Choosing the right Tein coilovers

Whats the difference between the Tein flex, cs, or ss. Which one has the better ride quality. And which can u drop the most.

Tein Flex and SS are similar in comparison..SS does not come with upper mount like the FLEX but, they are both Auto-X aspired...Both of these components are stiff and sporty...Rides rough for those who are into a sport suspension...

Tein CS "Comfort Spec" is a totally different sytem compared to the other two coilovers. It's built for comfort with a slighty sporty ride...It isn't as aggressive and it does not drop the car as much as SS or Flex... EST. MAX drop is 2.5-2.7 inches while Flex and SS can handle 3+ inches...

Out of these three coilovers, I would say Flex is the most performance oriented of them all...However, it's really up to personal preference and what your specific goal is for your ride...

Theres a huge thread of reviews on the GS boards, so do a search...

This is the very discussion that everybody here talks about over and over again.

If you just typed in tein coilovers into the advanced search, you might miraculously just find some results...

Instead of you wasting your time to start threads or wasting other people's time typing, you can search and learn more than what you asked for at the very moment that you need it.

but seriously though, go search man.

let me break it down for you really quick so somebody doesn't complain that I'm being too hard on the newbs.

Tein CS - soft/luxury ride, adjustable stiffness and ride height. limited ride height adjustability.

Tein Basic - it is what it sounds like. just a basic set of coilovers for the people on low budgets. ride height adjustable. Extremely stiff.

Tein Flex - performance oriented fully adjustable stiffness and ride height. period.

Tein SS - street coilovers, basically everything mixed into one at a minimum rate.

one thing about the TEIN. there are USDM and JDM spec ones. if u get the JDM spec SS ones. it has the same spring rate as CS. to order the JDM ones u will have to go through a dealer and order it from japan. CS is great but cost a lil too much. flex is more for racing. the JDM SS is the perfect combo for street, race and luxury ride.

It all depends on what your looking for I was gonna get the Flex's then I went for a ride in an SC with the same size rims as mine 19"x9.5" all four corners and 275's out back and it was a brutal ride..given the low pro tires all the way around. So i went with the CS Dampers and I couldnt ask for anymore got *** as far down as they'll go and I still had to shave my fender lips. It all depends what you want and what you got.. you got low pro's and bigger rims something softer...vice versa etc. and what your willing to sacrafice...good luck!
