Longer Strut Bolts?

I was wondering where to get longer strut bolts as, per the "strut bar fitment" post on here, the installation of a STB is highly discouraged without them. Could someone please direct me to where I can order some?

Also, how hard is installation of the longer strut bolts? Is it relatively easy to replace the factory strut bolts on the factory suspension setup with these longer bolts?

Thank You for all the help.

Coilovers that replace the pillow ball mounts (top of the strut) have extended bolts. I think this includes JIC, some Teins, and HKS coilovers.

Is there any other way to get the longer strut bolts and install them without switching out for coilovers? Thanks.

Not that I know of, unless you can use aftermarket upper pillowball mounts with OEM struts...which probably isn't likely. I know you're gonna hate this but here's an idea, sell off whatever STB you have now and get one that fits the SC300 without using spacers...like the Cusco or the Otto-R STB. Good luck man

PS, what STB are you trying to use? Just curious.

Well, I have a Otto-R, but I regret buying it because the quality seems to be pretty bad. Also, I'm not a big fan of the whole adjustable STB concept as it seems like it would be weaker, but it's mostly the shoddy quality that I can't stand especially considering how well put the Lexus is put together.

As a result of that, I now am trying to get a STB that I feel I can trust. I was thinking of Cusco, but others on this forum have said that it also requires spacers and the removal of a little piece on top of the engine. Considering that all STBs seemed to require washers, I figured I would look for a TRD or Cusco, even though both seem to be out of production. My last resort is a JIC I guess.

Do you have any advice? Thanks.

That's only if you have an SC400, the 300's don't require the removal of anything and the Cusco doesn't require spacers. This is on a 300.

JIC, TRD, and a couple of others requires spacers...Otto-R and Cusco don't, it's a straight bolt-on application

Is the Otto really that crappy JM?

Mike,

I see, not even the Lexus emblem? But I haven't been able to find anyone that still sells the Cusco STB for the SC300. I'm not sure why that is though as I've heard that they're of high quality. If you happen to know where to source a Cusco, I'd like to know. I've only seen JICs for sale everywhere online. Thanks!

As for the Otto bar, yep I really do think it's horrible. The thing appears to have been made to fit multiple cars and, as such, is adjustible on both sides. In addition, it's poorly machined and the metal feels quite soft, an impression that has been enhanced by the numerous dents and pockmarks on the bar. Along with that, the mounts to attach to the strut towers aren't finished very well and aren't smooth on the bottom. The whole thing does not inspire any confidence and I'd be worried about it breaking and messing up my car if I installed it. Overall, a total waste of money, but I hesitate to spend $25 bucks and the time to send it back when I'll only get $50 back ya know. This product has taught me that you get what you pay for in autos for sure.
