Default New GS300 owner looking for a drop

I just bought a 2001 Gs300 a few months ago and now I am looking to drop the car a bit. I have read quite a few of the posts and I am now thoroughly confused. As it is right now the GS is bone stock, but I just bought 18x8.5 for the front and 18x9.5's for the back. I have a family, so children and adults do sometimes sit in the back. What do you guys suggest as far as springs. I would appreciate any help in pointing me in the right direction for the purchase.

well maybe you have read what i posted before, but get coilovers, it's much better. don't just get springs without shocks, it's a waste of money and your shocks will blow fast

What is your budget? Handling and ride quality requirements? My first choice for you would be coilovers over shocks/springs but it will depend on your budget and requirements.

Oh, congrats on the purchase and welcome to CL.

On the cheap, L-Tuned shocks and springs.

On the lamb, Tein CS.

Spring and shocks are the budget. As far as ride, I would like to have a bit sportier feel, but I sure don't want to be able to feel the paint lines in the road. So if I where to go with the Spring set-up what spings and what shocks would be ideal? jonathancl suggested the L-Tuned Springs and Shocks. How much does that set-up lower the GS and does anyone have any photos? Thanks for your replys.

L-tuned S/S will drop the car 1.25" up front and 1" in the rear. Here is a pic of the L-Tuned with 18s:

Neo thanks alot. That looks just about perfect! where is the best place to buy the parts needed? , and about how much is that going cost. Also, what do you think about the TEIN H-TECH and Bilstein Shocks combo? I have heard some good things about them as well. I have a friend that put the Eibach pro and tokico shocks on and he says that there is alot of body roll. Is that from the shocks or is that a sway bar bushing problem? I definitely don't want to run into that problem.

I don't have first hand experience with the other setups so I won't comment. To get the L-Tuned, here is a set in the classifieds:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=175731

or you can get it from our CL vendor, Sewell Lexus:

As for body roll, sways and springs affect that. Get a set of Daizen Sways and you can kiss those body rolls (mostly) away.

Go with L-Tuned, there is a special sale going on now from one of the last and best Lexus suppliers around:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=173534

And follow jonathancl install guide to do the install yourself, which is what I did and saved me $300 bucks and learned alot!
