help with brake noise
I have a problem with my front left brake. When I press on the pedal I hear a squeak come from that side of the car. It is quite audible. This is when the car is stopped. When I am driving and have the windows down I dont hear it but this is probably due to the engine and other noises. It also only squeaks when the pedal is pushed past a certain point, as if you were increasing the pressure on the pedal. The more I push the louder it gets. Any ideas on what this is before I take it to the dealer?

Check the brake pads....the noise maybe the calipers digging into the rotors.
On the other hand, it could be just rock pebbles/dirt between the pad and rotors.
I'd suggest removing the pad and clean them if its still looks good....then apply a some anti-squeal paste before re-installing.
Good luck.

Thanks Pete I will try that. I hope it isnt anything bigger than that. I dont notice any grooves or anything on the rotor and the stopping power isnt getting any worse.

Usually a run of the bed in process would solve the issue.
