Default So I installed new ball joints and Tie rods yesterday. . .

The old ones actually looked quite good. No major problems at all. I'm reading all these stories of destroyed ball joints and what not and I was concerned so I figured I was almost at 100,000 miles what the hell. Change them out, get an alignment, don't worry about it again for another 100,000 miles. Car turns in a bit quicker and it seem to have squelled the vibration at 60 MPH I was getting. Other than that no difference. I'd say it is a good maintenance thing to do though just in case. THe parts were not that much at all.

Guru,

How hard was the RR? I've changed ball joints on domestics before is it basically the same? I took my GS4 into the shop for it's 60K service and they told me the ball joints were warn. I'm also getting a vibration @ 60mph.

Where did you get your parts and how much did it run you??

TIA

Steve Ganz has the parts pretty cheap. Under $200 I believe for everything. The install was SUPER easy. They even give you new castle nut. Seriously about an hours worth of work. Well recommended for higher mileage cars. I suspect you 20 inch guys are wearing them out faster. I have 18X9 inch wheels with 245 tires all the way around and mine were fine. I have Tein CS suspension and am lowered about 1.5-2 inches or so. I also have TRD sways, yet mine stood up well.
