Default What am I gonna do with MY 4X4 GS!?!?!?!?

Ok, so after seeing my car next to all the lowered cars at Jay's BBQ on Sunday, I have decided to take the leap. Here is the deal; Not alot of cash on hand ( about $600 max when the time comes ) and I still have the stock chrome 16's.

I am thinking of an L-tuned Struts and Espelir springs combo to give me a decent drop and still keep my ride fairly smooth.

Anyone here have a setup close to this? Maybe a pic for ideas of what I am getting into.

Any input or suggestions would be great!

Thanks in advance guys!

it all depends on what you are thinking for wheels. If you are going to stick the 16s, then Espelirs will be way too low (will give your car that "smushed" look).

I realize 1200-1500 bucks for suspension is not for everyone, so just post what you want to do with wheels, and other plans for the car (stereo box, etc), and we will try to help out

I saved up and waited forever like Johnee. hehe Coilovers are worth every penny and can be rebuilt when the time comes. The greatest advantage is being able to adjust the height and stiffness. That to me is priceless. Before I got my tein cs, I had eibachs ( 1.25 in drop) and even on 19's it had a 3 finger gap. I then was going to get tanabes which gave it a 1.8-2.0 inch drop. However now that I have half a finger gap, I still want to go lower so I am glad I can adjust the height. If I ever need to take a long trip, I can set the stiffness to soft and raise the car a lil. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the input guys.
I "plan" on running 19's one day. (SSR GT3's are the dream wheels)
I am not really worried about stereo equipment. I may one day build another 'deathbox' with 2 10"s ad put in an amp, but to be honest, not a real big deal if I don't do it.

What I want to do is go with Tein CS and the EDFC. It is just that with my situation (divorced from a bi-polar woman) it just seems like any time I start to get ahead and get some mod money together, something comes up and costs me.

I will wait for the Tein. I know that is the best route, I was just thinking if I could get a 'quick fix' and wait on the big stuff till later, I would be happier.

Since you really want Teins, you should probably wait for them, its most likely your best bet to get wheels first then determine your "suspender" route. The wheels will play a large part in what suspension set up will/will not work.
