Default Changing rotors, pads, and SS brakelines

Has anyone personally changed their brake set up (not BB kit) on a GS? I just ordered Brembo cross-drilled/slotted rotors, Axxis pads, and SS brakeline kit. How much time should I allow for the install? Anything tricky or hard I should know about? Anyone have a link to a thread with installation instructions (I looked but couldn't find one)? Thanks guys.

Default Brake Install

Hey man, I just did this exact thing this weekend. It took about 5 hours. Only because I stripped and repainted the the calipers. Did about 4 coats of Hi Temp Paint, applied my Lexus Decals, and then a few coats of clear (also Hi Temp). Looks real good and I will post some pics very soon. The hardest thing was ajusting the new Stainless brake line so that it wasn't rubbing on anything and had enough room to stretch with the wheel turned all the way to the left and right. Everything else went together really well.

Good luck, you will love the difference this mod will make!

Thanks a ton joel5150. Did you use brush on paint or the spray can? How many quarts of brake fluid do you need?

Any time Dennis-C,
I am glad I can help a fellow member. That is what it is all about here on CL. Just trying to do my part.

I used spray paint. If you go to the autoparts store, they sell Hi Temp paint for calipers and rotors. I got 2 cans of brake cleaner and a wire brush. I knocked off all the dust and stuff I could first with the brush, then sprayed the crap out of them with the cleaner. Gets them all clean. I just took a bit of news paper and made a plug for the hole where the line screws into the caliper so as not to get anything in it. I think I could have gotten away with buying a small bottle of the brake fluid, but I got the big one and flushed my whole system for the heck of it.

By chance, do you have pics of the installation?
