Unhappy left caliper replacement $400 ouch

Saturday after leaving RMMGS4's house (where my front was lowered) I decide to change out my front pads and rotors. Well I noticed a problem with my brakes while I was driving, so I wanted to change them out with the aftermarket pads and rotors I got. Well I found out my left caliper was not working right. Hours and hours and it would not move. Now fast forward to today (Monday). I had to have my car towed by flatbed to Lexus of Pleasanton. Since my car is low it barely ( and I mean barely ) made it on the truck. And this was with boards underneath the wheels. My carson tuned exhaust barely missed scraping it. I was glad.

Well here is the bad part. At the dealer there asphalt is slightly uneven. So even with the boards, the left exhaust canister slightly got scraped. I almost died... Then I later get a call saying the left caliper has to be replaced for $400. I was like wtf! So since they have my car, I said hell with it and I had them finish the rears with the new parts.

Just went I thought I could start moding like crazy this happens...

And just bought the 01-04 tails for the GS and some other goodies to get ready for the meet on the 26th. see Nor Cal 1st Annual Beginning-of-Summer Meet & Volleyball Tournament : June 26

Sorry to hear about your problems.

At least nobody put a bullet through your rear wheel.

oh man that sux.... so what's the problem with the caliper again? like you said on the phone that one of the bolt got stripped or something? this is really bad man.... so basically you were braking only with the right caliper?

oh and red, that's really dirty man bullet hole, hahah.....

yeah red that was dirty. haha.

Henry,
Well it is the bracket that holds the caliper, but that said the left caliper is bad also. So in the end I got shafted. well at least I won't have to worry about it. And when I head to the meet I'll have the crossed drilled rotor and some new improvents to the look of the car.

Was this your front left caliper that went bad? If so I have one right here I could have sold you. Oh well. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Thx Bit. Well it was already at the dealer and I just wanted the car back and working. Sometimes these things happen right? Just have to move onto the next mod. That always makes me forget about anything bad

Great attitude Chris. Especially compared to some people who buy a used GS and ***** and moan about a squeak for example!
