Default ***brake caliper paint***

What is a good clear coat brake caliper paint to use. I was looking at the Eastwood Company (www.eastwoodco.com) and found a few. Any response is greatly appreciated.

I used Dupli-Color Clear "DE1636" Engine Enamel. Good for up to 500deg.

I forgot the brand I used....i think it was Duplicolor....1200 degree black and 500 degree clearcoat. Walmart sells them....in fact....they now sell a caliper paint kit.

Default ? about G2

For those that used G2 did you do all 4 calipers at the same time? I read the instructions and it said that the paint will harden in about 4 hrs. I am wondering if this is enough time to jack up all 4 sides individually as I only have one floor jack. Any suggestions? I also thought about cutting the paint and the reactor and doing it one side at a time. Thanks for any help

i dont think G2 makes a clear coat. I was on their website and saw nothing about clear coat. The G2 that I received basically has the clear coat built in.

Duplicolor is just spray paint, right? You're gonna get a microscopically thin layer of paint. Sure it will probably last, but G2 is like nail polish - REAL thick. No need for any clear coat because it dries shiny.

GS300Rich - I mixed half the G2 paint/hardener and did the fronts only at one time. Worked fine.

Actually Duplicolor has a new brush on similar to G2 at about 1/2 the price. I've got G2 on mine and think it's awesome, but think this stuff may be another more cost effective solution. I don't know anyone on CL that's used it (but I keep posting about it until somebody does, lol).

Nice how to.

It was in my local advance auto for $20 something bucks.

Edit - oh and do NOT mix the G2 in a plastic cup. It will eat through it when you mix the two parts and you'll end up with it on your garage floor (and worse yet on your leg like me ).

The only thing I don't like about the brush paints is the caliper sticker (if you want to do this). After painting, you put the sticker on. Then what? I actually like the fact that I sealed in the sticker with multi-coats of the clear spray. This was one of the reasons why I did not get G2.
