V8's in 08 Shootout - Dallas, TX
 

OK Gang. Here is the official thread to start off the Lexus Shootout/All Lexus Meet, featuring the V8 Shootout and the I6 Shootout. Remember, this even is open to all Lexus vehicles, and awards will be given out for both V8's and I6's.

• Here is a general description which I will copy and paste into the original post of this thread:
  • Shootout official dates- TBD, probably in September 2008.
  • Date TBD, 8:00 am Kick off Breakfast at a place TBD.
  • 10:30 am Pre-mapped Group cruise through Dallas, Course TBD
  • 12:00 pm clean cars at TBD location
  • 1:00-4:00 pm Car show starts at one of the Lexus dealers in town if we can secure this.
  • 3:30 pm Awards to be given, Awards are TBD, but will include Best in Show, 2nd, and 3rd place. Best V8 in Show, 2nd and 3rd.
  • 6:00 pm Dinner and party TBD
  • Date TBD, 8:00 am Dyno Shootout, place: Xtreme Horsepower, North Richland Hills, TX. Dyno Tunes will be available at the Dyno by Chris Macellaro who teaches at EFI. He can schedule a tune before the event for anbody that wants one, and he is one of the best in his field...He is familiar with most all Engine Management Systems, and is an expert at tuning for peak power, driveability and gain. I am having my car tuned by him before the event. Specials are available due to the show.
  • 1:00-5:00 pm Track Shootout at Texas Motorplex Track. Time Slips will be provided.
  • 5:00 pm, Awards for Most powerful Dyno, Most Powerful V8 Dyno, Fastest 1/4 mile, Fastest V8 1/4 mile.

OK, this is just the thread starter. We need to coordinate much to pull this off. We want to look for volunteer leaders to help us put this together, especially CL members in Dallas. We want to look for sponsorship for the meet, setting up a BarBCue, a show of each members' individual cars, Babes to be at the show, find the track for the races, a dyno to pull HP and TQ results of each members' ride, plus prizes, trophies, music, etc...

Can we put this together? Come on. Let's make this happen...

Please keep in mind that we are encouraging all Lexus owners to come out and compete in the Car Show, as well as those that just want to run their cars for time, and then those that want to compete for possible purse money. We also want to encourage all Lexus enthusiasts to participate as spectators. We would like to get a couple of hundred people to this event. If it is successful, we intend to make it an annual event. We have found a track, more details to come. So, come on and sign up as spectators now, and we will add those to a spectator list...

Scott is correct gang...This event is open to all Lexus enthusiasts, and all can participate, and should...We are just using the V8 theme, because there are beginning to be several V8's that are being modified for performance, and we want to all get together in one place with our cars...

I'm down. I live one mile from Westside Lexus here in Houston, it's probably the nicest one out of the four dealerships (due to them having the largest and newest service center).

I will make this for sure. I would say the Westside dealership also, it is def. a nice one, even though Ive never seen northsides dealership. Bernie listed the 4 tracks that are here, all of them are very nice. We need to make sure and get this thread stickied so noone forgets about it.
