Well, since Bill has dropped off the radar, I'll try to step in where the DFW meets left off. We were the two original founders of the DFW area Lexus meets. It all started about two years back at a Starbucks and we were the only two to show up lol! I think Bill has switched to the dark side(Benz) but I'm sure we can still welcome him to our meet

I'm going to give this a 3-4 weeks notice to allot everyone some time to plan ahead and for us to decide on an ideal date/location. I will be restarting the mailing lists for DFW members and get the moderators to do a forum wide announcement 1 week from the meet.

What I have in mind is to have the meet sometime in the afternoon around 5PM so we won't be scorched by the Texas sun For the location, I'm still working on that. I'm open to any suggestions so please speak up.

I'm originally from the DFW area, so I would love to come down there, but due to the fuel expense of driving 400 miles roundtrip I'll only be able to make it if it's during the 19-22 of August when I'll already be in town.

On a side note, anyone planning an OKC meet?

I second that. Right off 114 maybe, near the fountains? From there we could go through Valley Ranch and take some pics on that huge bluff at 635/MacArthur or maybe head to Grapevine Lake by the marina?

Typically we spend a good deal of time outside, panting at the car hawtness that exists in this group. Just a suggestion - 5PM is typically the highpoint of the afternoon heat - not noon as I used to believe. The earlier in the morning, or the later in the evening, or the further from 5PM you can get, the more survivable the time together will be.

Regardless of whether it's 100º or 50º, I'll be there. I'm so glad you're starting this back up.

 

naw thats fine college actually starts aug22, aug17-20 is suggested move-in date - think i could push some plans back and even if its later on, if its on a weekend...
