Thanks jlpaul65 for the assistance. I got it figured out. I saw not a single 2IS350 for sale which suprised me. I guess they are getting rarer as they get older. I am in the HSV area and after reading a few posts about IS and g35s in B'ham I tried to locate lexus IS in my area. Not a single one today.
Back when I had a land rover disc 2 there was a group called the 'burma brotherhood" which was a network across the country of rover enthusiasts that would come to each others aid to do part swaps, check out rovers for members not able to rovers for sale out of their area, and to go to shows etc. Does anybody know if there is a CL group besides the area chapters does this? I am looking very seriously at a car in Ca. that I need to have someone check out for me. I would be glad to pay a mechanic in the area to do it but i would feel better if it was someone that is knowledgeable about Lexus. Of course I would also be glad to offer a CL member payment as well.

This probably wont help but its a last resort...If B'ham lets you down Pro-Tec Imports In Decatur AL can do it. Ask for Richie Henthorne the owner.. he started out as a Honda trained mechanic worked for the dealer for years and then started his own gig and has been going strong since. Nice guy decent by the book prices. Have taken all my imports to him and he always does a great job!

Birmingham (Trussville) Alabama here. Just moved back to Alabama from Active Duty about 3 years ago.
Had a 2jz-gte IS300 back in 2009-12 but was hit and totaled it out before I moved back to Alabama. I'm new to the forums as I've always been on Supraforums. But glad to see a Lexus only forum with active members. I'm in the process of buying another (searching) IS300 to build/project on now.
Currently me and the wife have a CT200H and then my 2014 Silverado Z71. So I'm still in the Lexus family in ways.

I've had several bad experiences with Lexus of Birmingham in both my LX470 and GS430. I recommend S+S Automotive Specialists in Cahaba Heights. The owners used to own Franklin Automotive in Vestavia which was the top rated Lexus repair shop in the area.
