RPR is an NHRA sanctioned track that is one of the nicest and fastest tracks in the United States. As of right now, the WHOLE event will be at RPR, but I reserve the right to swap one of the days with an airfield event. No promises, just continued work in progress.

HOTEL INFORMATION:

You all will have several options on hotels this year. There isn't officially a "host hotel" so let me explain the 4 options to you all this way:

1 and 2 are closer to RPR, 3 and 4 are hotels you guys are all familiar with.

1. Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake

This hotel is approximately 30 minutes (24.4 miles) from RPR and is a property that is on par with Omni Westchase and Marriott Westchase from last year. They will have onsite security and nice size parking. Booking cutoff is 2/17/16.

Address: 3000 NASA Road 1, Houston, TX 77058

Rates: 3/16-3/20 $124/night (of note we have 50 rooms/night but they will increase that block as rooms get booked).

Booking phone number and code: 281-333-9300 and group code is TX2K

Booking link: still waiting, please call to book

2. Springhill Suites Baytown (Marriott Property)

This hotel is approximately 10 minutes (10.6 miles) from RPR and is much smaller than hotels from past events. It is located right off Interstate 10 and the biggest benefit is distance to RPR. Booking cutoff is 2/18/16.

Address: 5169 I-10 E, Baytown, TX 77521

Rates: 3/16-3/20 King Suite $109/night, Queen/Queen Suite $119/night (of note they only have 10 rooms 3/16, 25 rooms 3/17 and 50 rooms for 3/18 and 3/19).

Booking phone number and code: 281-421-1200, code is TXKA for King Suite and code is TXKB for Queen/Queen suite YOU CAN START BOOKING TUESDAY MARCH 29TH

Booking link: still waiting, please call to book

The hotel is approximately 48.4 miles from RPR, almost the same exact distance to RPR as to Lonestar Motorsports Park (last years venue – 48.1 miles from Marriott). The biggest difference is that you'll have to go through Houston which may cause slight delay but very similar distance wise. Total travel time should be under 1 hour each way.

Address: 2900 Briarpark, Houston, TX 77042

Rates: 3/16-3/20 $105/night (of note we have 150 rooms/night but they will increase that block as rooms get booked).

Booking phone number and code: 800-452-5110 and code is TX2K16

4. Omni Hotel, this is the former host hotel, lots of people still prefer staying here, large parking lot, lots of space, same part of town as you all are accustomed to. Like with the Marriott the distance from Omni to RPR isn't much different than the distance from Omni to Lonestar.

Address: 13210 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079

Rates: 3/16-3/20 $118/night (of note we 25 rooms each night).

Booking phone number and code: 800-THE-OMNI and code is TX 2K16

TX2K™ ROLL RACE NATIONALS AT ROYAL PURPLE RACEWAY (RPR)
For the third year in a row we are suspending the Road Racing event and in its place will be the third TX2K™ Roll Race Nationals! Royal Purple Raceway will be the home of the TX2K16™ Roll Race Nationals, TX2K16™ Night Meet and the TX2K16™ Drag Race event.

LOCATION:
Royal Purple Raceway
2525 S Farm to Market Road 565, Baytown, TX 77523

DATES: Gates open at RPR Thursday, March 17th at 7:00 am and the event will be all day the 17th, finishing around 3:00 pm on Friday March 19th. Thursday will have us focusing on acclimation runs, grudge matches and starting to qualify for three classes.

NUMBER OF CARS: Number of cars will be limited to approximately 130.

COST: Price is $280 per car. This is non-refundable, however you can transfer an entry if your car cannot make it (subject to my approval – Peter Blach). Keep in mind that non-refundable means that if the weather ends up cancelling the event, there are no refunds. The $280 payment includes the drivers gate fee.

CAR QUALIFICATIONS: The first round of entrants will all need to be ABOVE 700WHP. I reserve the ability to add in lower HP cars later.

HOW DO YOU LOCK IN A SPOT: You must email the following information to tx2kenterprises@yahoo.com : Full Name, Car Year, Car Make/Model, Car whp. I am limiting the number of entries that will be allowed to approximately 130 so as to have an event that isn’t too full and one that allows for as many side by side races as possible.

CAR RULES: Specific details will follow, BUT in the spirit of the type of event TX2K has been for the past 15 years, we are looking for STREET CARS. That means no tubbed drag cars, no lexan only race cars, no fiber glass body race cars, etc… Also, skinnies will NOT be allowed, cars will need to run a DOT approved tire.

GATE FEE: Spectators will have 2 options on both Thursday and Friday: $20 per person per day for general admission, parking will be located in general spectator area (gates 3,4,5) OR $30 per person per day for VIP admission, parking will be within the RPR grounds (gate 1) and will include a wrist band that will get you special access to parts of the venue that will otherwise be off limits to those without the $30 pass. Special access will include access to the return road that goes along the length of the track, it will be closed during the roll race and open to sponsors and VIP admission holders. Special access will also include access to grandstands that will be sectioned off and at the finish line of the roll race event. Lastly, the Night Meet will be held Friday night, if anyone comes in the general admission gates after 5:00 pm on Friday then the fee is $20 per person and if anyone comes in the VIP admission gates after 5:00 pm on Friday then the fee is $25 per person.
*All racers will enter through gate 1. Their race fee will include their entry.

STRUCTURE: Cars will qualify into one of three classes. The top 16 cars will be in the Unlimited bracket, the next 16 will be in the Super Sport bracket and the next 16 will be in the Sport bracket. Grudge matches (callouts) will be allowed as will test-n-tune runs. We will have a VHT tractor and a crew responsible for “prepping” the full 1,500 ft race distance.

AWARDS: The top two in all three classes will receive trophies and a cash payout. Amount TBD.

HOW THE RACING WORKS: The cars will be paired up in the staging lanes. The cars will line up at the “start line” and leave upon being given the signal. Cars will have 350 ft to pace one another prior to getting to the track starting line tree. Drivers will need to pair up next to one another and have a target speed of 60 mph. Starting at the tree there will be 350 ft of “green area”. In that “green area” a stoplight, located in the middle of the track, will be triggered manually. This means that ANYTIME in that 350 ft, the light may go green. If you pass the light and it hasn’t gone green then the run is aborted and cars will come back around and line up again. Cars will race for 1,500 ft and then pass over a finish line and have 2,200 feet to slow down before reaching the end of the track. Total length including pacing area, racing area and shutdown is 4,400 ft. That is more total distance than other similar events. *Of note, the full 1,500 ft of race distance will have VHT on it and will be maintained throughout both days of roll racing.

STARTS: Both cars will attempt to be even with one another when they pass the starting line tree. At this time they will be in the “green area” which means a green light may be triggered at any time (for the next 350 ft). Target speed is 60 mph, target line up is within ½ car length.

SCORING: When the two cars approach the finish line they will activate a timing system that will calculate their MPH at the end of the run. First car crossing the finish line wins. We have worked with RPR to put in place a system whereby the finish line speeds will show on the main RPR score boards. The score boards will also illuminate which lane won the race. We will keep boards updated in the paddock/pits area as well.

Friday Night March 20 - TX2K™ Night Meet

The NIGHT MEET for TX2K15™will be at Royal Purple Raceway immediately following the TX2K™ ROLL RACE NATIONALS. The location is ideal for this event, it's the only place where we can control access in/out, where we can police the parking lot to make sure that we are safe and that our cars are safe, where we can offer a bikini contest with no limit on noise, where we can still serve beer (they have a license to serve), where we can serve food...and ultimately where we can keep the type of clientele we don't want...out. Same as last year, anyone that does a burnout or drives dangerously on site will be pulled out of line and issued a citation. Depending on the severity of the offense the police will reserve the right to arrest anyone doing something that endangers the safety of others. This year we will have the following:

GATE FEE: See above in the TX2K™ ROLL RACE NATIONALS section.

4:00 TX2K™ ROLL RACE NATIONALS Awards Presentation
5:00-12:00 ¼ Mile Grudge Racing at RPR, ¼ mile track open for test-n-tune until midnight. Tech cards will be available for purchase at the gate starting 4:30 pm.
10:00-11:00 BIKINI CONTEST with $1,500 in CASH prize money

Throughout all of this action the DJ will be playing and the track will be serving beer.

Dyno Information: like last year, we will have 2 dyno’s available and operating all day on Friday and Saturday at RPR. Like always it will be free to dyno, first come first serve. The catch is that you have to enter in through gate 1 (VIP admission) so that you can have your car within the gates.

Just like last 4 years, the plan will be to have test-n-tune and 2 rounds of qualifying on Saturday. Best case we will have 2-days of drag racing, worst case, only 1 like in 2010 (in the event that one of the two days gets rained out). If by chance rain ruins one of the days, the schedule will change accordingly and will be posted at RPR.

LOCATION:
Royal Purple Raceway
2525 S Farm to Market Road 565, Baytown, TX 77523

The track will open at 9:00 am on Saturday morning. The track will go hot at 10:00 am and drag racing will continue until 6:00 pm. The schedule on this day will consist of test-n-tune and 2 rounds of qualifying for the next day’s eliminations.

5. 3:00 pm - eliminations round 3 (test-n-tune after)
6. 4:00 pm - final round eliminations

There will be a dedicated lane for test-n-tune ALL DAY LONG.

GATE FEE: Spectators will have 2 options on both Thursday and Friday: $20 per person per day for general admission, parking will be located in general spectator area (gates 3,4,5) OR $30 per person per day for VIP admission, parking will be within the RPR grounds (gate 1) and will include a wrist band that will get you special access to parts of the venue that will otherwise be off limits to those without the $30 pass (See above in the TX2K™ ROLL RACE NATIONALS section). Racers will be able to purchase a "2-day tech card" on Saturday (NON-REFUNDABLE if you break on Saturday) for $85 (in addition to the cost to enter). If a racer only wants to run on Sunday, the tech cards will be $45 (in addition to the cost to enter).

Food: concessions will be open all day

DRAG RACING CLASSES – as of today, these are the same classes as last year, the GTR classes are subject to change and final classes will be posted by 11/1/15

TEST-N-TUNE
The lanes will be open all day for test-n-tune. This is the perfect venue for you to settle your grudges or to simply have the opportunity to run an UNLIMITED number of times!

GTR Class 1
Stock Turbo, OEM sized brakes, DOT radials. The intent here is to have a class for street GTRs with just bolt on parts running stock turbos.

GTR Class 2
OEM turbo manifold, OEM sized brakes, DOT radials, The intent here is to have a class for street GTRs with just bolt on parts running upgraded stock manifold turbos.

GTR Class 3
Modified turbo and manifold allowed, OEM sized brakes, DOT radial only. The intent here is to have a class for weekend warrior GTRs with all the bolt on upgrades including big turbo kits.

GTR Class 4
Modified turbo and manifold allowed, any sized brakes, any size and type of tire allowed. The intent here is for more purpose built straight line cars. Cars that have big turbos and/or small brakes belong here.

GTR Class 5
Class 5 is a new class called Shootout. This is an unregulated exhibition class (i.e. no rules / no bracket) for people who are simply there to put down the best ET and MPH they can. The intent here is to have a class for shop cars, big build and high profile cars that are out to set records without running a bracket with eliminations. AMS, English Racing / ETS, T1R, and Switzer will all have cars in this class. Furthermore, the GTR sponsors have allowed 2JZ application cars to compete in this class. Cars such as the VirtualWorks Racing Supra, the Titan Supra, the SRT IS300, etc...

Supra Class (TURBO STREET)
Turbocharger inducer size of 76mm and less allowed. Toyota 5 or 6-speed, factory/built Toyota automatic or TH350-400 transmissions permitted. NITROUS permitted. Methanol injection permitted. Drag radials or slicks are acceptable. MK1-MK3's are ok to run in this class as long as they meet the requirements as posted.

Street Car Class
This class will be administered by a sponsor that is local to Houston named ARD. Thank you to Owen Priest and ARD for helping me put this class together. This class can and should include GTR's, Vettes, Porsche's, Vipers, Supra's, Camaro's, Mustang's, etc...any car is welcome to run in this class so long as the car meets the rules below:
The rules:
--carpet, stock dashboard and full interior from front seats forward (passenger seat may be removed)
--lightweight body panels allowed except roof, quarter panels and doors must remain factory (one piece front ends not permitted)
--inspection sticker required (in the state you live in), must be current
--radio that works is required (which means you need speakers too)
--stock suspension required (all suspension components must be located in the stock locations)
--no tire rule
--no fuel rule
--no power adder rule
--no exhaust rule

10.5 Index Class
This class is new to TX2K...we have never had an index class. Based on the success of this class at the FL2K event and based on the fact that many modern cars with simple bolt ons would fair well in this class, we are going to give it a shot. Any GTR with bolt ons, C6/C7 with bolt ons, Viper with bolt ons, etc....can run in this class. This class is brought to you all by Phastek Racing out of Houston, TX. They put on a street car event in Houston ever year and have also had lots of success with it.
The rules:
--Heads up
--10.50 break out
--any year vehicle permitted
--any type chassis permitted
--any type suspension permitted
--any power adders permitted
--all tires permitted

Stick Shift Challenge
Cost to enter this class is $100 payable to me. The winner will get 75% of the pot and the runner-up will get 25% of the pot (i.e. if there are 8 cars entered, the winner will get $600 and the runner-up will get $200). The only rules are that you must run an H pattern factory based transmission and have stock suspension (all suspension components must be located in the stock locations), no automatics allowed, any car make/model allowed

Any car can enter multiple classes so long as you meet the rules and pay for multiple tech cards.

Dyno Information: we will have a dyno (or two) available and operating all day on Friday and Saturday at RPR. Like always it will be free to dyno, first come first serve. The catch is that you have to enter in through gate 1 (VIP admission) so that you can have your car within the gates.
