I assume they are making up for the lost week during the ice storm. Everytime I've driven around I've seen tons of local and GSP with radar and writing tickets and pulling people over.

hah not in gwinnett.. cops can't use radar or laser to judge your speed.

I've had a few Gwinnett friends get hit for various other charges lately (expired tag which led to an impounded car and another got a ticket for an improper left turn by Gwinnett Place mall). Be sure to stay careful, seems like they're trying to make up the difference now that they can't use radar/laser.

havent seen an increase along my routes..eastern part of city of atlanta along I-20 and 75 up to Delk Rd/Dobbins ARB exit or down 285 west wall from cumberland to I-20..in fact, it has been a long time since i have seen them running laser. Even the one spot I could set my watch to, which is south on 75 right across the Hoochie river, that little cut out to the right where they be parked up in there runnin laser eatin sammiches..just nailin folks...thank goodness for my Bel detector and dummies going 85 passing me..good job guys, keep it up lol

Can anyone tell me why? I used to always see a speed trap set up by the hospital on Pleasant Hill but not anymore. Also they used to be under the Buford Highway overpass as well.

I've noticed that some too. Not in my immediate area but in Union City where I work they are out more than usual.

from what i understand, gwinnett county did not pay to renew their license to use the equipment or something to that degree. they cannot use the evidence brought forth from either radar or laser in court. but they can still cite you for speed based on observation, BS!!

I noticed that too. I used to always see them and knew to slow down around those 2 areas, and still do, but haven't seen them for a while now.
