We're soon moving to the Lake Norman (near Charlotte, North Carolina) area. Anyone know of a good independent mechanic to take over service on our Lexus'? Thanks.

Welcome to the area Dave.

Depending on the kind of work (bodyshop, etc) I have some recommendations, but for regular maintenance I always take my Lexus to the dealer (Hendrick).

I was primarily interested in mechanics, but I'm curious about your body shop thoughts. We're moving to Mooresville, so maybe you know of a few places in that area.

As a side question, what do you think of the service at the Lexus dealer in Charlotte?

Service at Hendrick has been exceptional for me. Ask for Rob Moore as your service advisor and tell him that I recommended him.

For bodyshops, I ususally go to Collision Specialties in Rock Hill (about 7 miles down Independence Bvd from the Lexus dealer), Mark is the owner. A second place is Import Paint and Body also on Independence. I've seen some amazing work by them, but have no personal experience with them other than the kind use of their facility for a Lexus detailing meet we had once held by the local Zaino distributor.
