ENGINE FORUM/new forum section please

so this could be just a me idea, but i feel it would be nice to have a section for the engines, and sub-sections for the specific engine types, like the 2JZ-GE, GTE, !JZ, etc. but until this thread gets noticed, please state the engine name in bold at the top of your comment separate from the rest of the post. see post below for example.

Thank you for your suggestion. We have a specific sub-forum for suggestions, where CL staff will look them over.

Hi Renato thanks for the suggestion.

We’ve considered this in the past and came to the decision not to do it for a number of reasons, among them
  • highly likely duplication of posts creation in both model and motor forums for new members
  • variations in configuration by model (example, intakes and exhaust headers often different for 1uz mototrs across models) make for a better fit in model forum
  • variations in motors with same motor designation by year (example 2jz-ge comes both with vvti and without)
  • promulgation of forums for the dozens of Lexus motor codes will be overwhelming and confusing for most members who don’t know those codes

Most importantly, the questions you’ll want to ask have mostly been already asked for years and starting to put them in another forum will make searching for the answers inefficient.

Suggest keeping your topic in the related model forum after searching first!
