Why was a thread closed in one day?
This thread I created
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...ml#post9992188
Was closed in one day? That seems a bit odd? Does anyone know why that admin would do that?

It appears the question was immediately and accurately answered (no, it isn't a Lexus) and was headed down a path of people posting questionable insults.

This still makes no sense to me....maybe you here has been odd behavior with "insults" on this forum for other users in the past?
I can't help but feel it is some kind of power trip...why shut the thread rather than addressing the problem users insulting others?

Disagree. I suspect it's simply the moderators experience (I've has the same) with similar past thread content and member reactions to other 'Lexus poser' rebadged vehicle threads. IMO There isn't anything productive that comes from these.

But the issue still exists: I was starting an honest discussion. I did nothing wrong. I had other follow up questions, and an admin did not like some OTHER posters type of comments...so why not block or punish the offenders, rather than me? Give them a warning or mark on their account...then two more and they are banned?
How is this different than when we were in grade school and there were the two kids that would not stop playing around and the teachers reaction was to punish the entire class in some way...I'd think as adults, we would have progressed from that dynamic?

I'm sorry but I've answered you question. To further your analogy, the entire classroom is continuing to have discussions, just those two kids were asked to stop being disruptive.
I don't know what sort of extensive and thoughtful followup discussion you expected to come out of that thread, but I guarantee you it would have continued to degrade. The thread topic/content you posted can be read as something an anti-Lexus troll would post to stir up trouble and since you had zero community history when you posted it, that's another factor in closing it.
The moderator was proactive once it started to go downhill and you have no reasonable expectation that we will babysit your thread. You also have no visibility into moderator actions towards other members so please don't make assumptions.
Please move on from this topic. If you have legitimate follow up questions about the third gen Avalon, I suggest ToyotaNation as a good source
