PM's ??
 

I just accidentally clicked on something and a bunch of "Private Messages" came up. I thought when someone on the forum "PM'd" another member, the message went to our registered e-mail address. Now I find out it winds up somewhere on the forum.

How do we know when we have a PM on this site ?? How do we access them ? Did I miss something ?

Larry, you may also want to check your User Options page to see if, at some time, you changed these PM default settings:

"Send you an email when you receive a Private Message?"
"Pop up a box when you receive a Private Message?"

Is there some minimum # of posts (or other criteria) before PM is enabled?

I don't see anything in the FAQ, but I don't see any options anyplace to PM someone.

There is no minimum currently set up. Look up towards the top right and click on the private messages underlined hotlink. Looks something like the below

Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 20639.



Once you're in the PM menu, click on "Send New Message" from the left hand menu bar in the Private Message options

I went there but all I saw was

Unread Message
Read Message
Replied-to Message
Forwarded Message

I didn't think to look at the left menu bar; I figured the PM stuff would be self-contained on the right.
