Default Radar Detector Hard Wire EASY!!!!

2016 IS300

Hard wiring a radar detector was an easy 10 minute project...

Purchase the MirrorTap MTX-2015 power cord kit from Amazon. it's pre-fused and USA made. Select the 15" jack cord that works with your detector.

When your kit arrives, use the smallest spade pins supplied in the kit.

Find and unplug the vehicle's mirror power connector right behind the mirror. Its in the mirror post that runs down the windshield.

insert the red(+) spade into the back of the PURPLE wire. Insert the black(-) spade to the back of the TAN wire.

plug in your radar detector and hit the road.

I have the ValentineOne with the RJ-11 phone jack. It works perfectly. The MirrorTap provides the switched power supply as recommended by any radar detector manufacturer.
