Default What next after the GS

I have had a few GS models, now with the rumors of the GS being discontinued I have started looking into other models. Just venting about my journey

ES F-sport - I love the design but I hate torque steer on a FWD vehicles so I'm not sure if that will be a true alternative to my current GS

GX- even with the refresh coming its still doesn't seem to have that updated interior look as other SUV's but it does now come in a red leather and black roof liner combo so idk still doesn't seem like much of a change.

RX- Does have an F-sport version not sure me being 31 the RX would be a good fit my mother actually has an RX. The new 2020 coming out is attractive but doesn't give me an aggressive sport suv like the BMW X5 M sport and etc

NX- I text drove this yesterday the ASC actually sounds good with the turbo surprisingly I would consider this, just seems to be a little tight in the inside especially coming from the GS

Overall I really don't know what I want my GS is a 2013 so its time to upgrade but I want something aggressive and fun. Going from the 13 GS to the 19 GS I feel like the changes are minor to have the same body style. Anyone going through the same thing with their next Lexus purchase?

I just went through this a few months ago.

Kia Stinger was close, but in the end I just loved the GS too much, so I got a 2019.

Changes were more substantial and surprising than I had expected. I’m enjoying it so far.

In 5-8 years I'll buy a used 2018-2019 LS 500h fully loaded for probably 1/4 it's original price. Fully loaded it goes somewhere around $115k new.

Yeah that and the LC more like 3-5 years from now should be more obtainable

I think going from a '13 to the '19 GS would be enough of a difference to make me stay within the brand. I was surprised to see how different the front end of the refreshed '16+ GS looked compared to the '13-'15. I don't think any GS refresh was as dramatic as the '16 GS.

We're all holding out to see what happens with the next gen GS.

If I couldn't go Lexus, I'd look at either the new 2020 Lincoln Aviator or Ford Explorer ST. RWD chassis, 400HP from a twin Turbo V6 and fairly well appointed. I know the quality doesn't hold up compared to Lexus, but definitely has the fun to drive, cruiser setup going.

If I had to go German, probably Audi over the rest. The S6 unfortunately has issues with the turbos needing to be replaced so I've had to look elsewhere for a GS350 upgrade.

DEAR LEXUS,
Just put the twin Turbo in the GS!

My hold out was to lease the 18 the way i wanted(mostly), then again I didn't have a lexus before then and just didn't want to wait anymore. Hopefully if there is a 5GS my lease will last until the second year for them to fix any issues.

I'd actually prefer them put a dynamic force hybrid in it standard. Not the usual underpowered powerplant but an updated version of the one the GS used to have. I probably would have gotten the more powerfully/economical hybrid if they didn't demand a 10k premium for it.

Seen a couple of TLX-Aspec on the road and I gotta say, it's hot! I know it'll be a downgrade but I would definitely consider the Aspec TLX V6 with SH-AWD if I leave the Lexus family.

I agree it looks good, but I would never pay the premium they demand for acura products that are no better in quality than honda. I'd wait till they came out with type S models as well. That model is also due for a remodel.

I actually may take another look the the GS maybe the F- sport with triple beam headlamps but you can’t find many of those around. But I wanted something to transport my bike around and the seats don’t go down in he back of the GS or ES

I looked into the Germans and honestly just can’t do it. Feel like they have too many issues but they are very attractive in styling but start to look dated faster than Lexus.

Still wanna know why they can’t make the sides straight instead of rounded
3rd gen IS seats fold down, too bad the back seat is still cramped. Proof that Lexus can make fold down seats.
