I just picked up a set of 2015 F Sport wheels for my 2IS. The tires on them are bald and the current size on them are 225/40 front + 245/40 rear. I know that the stock tires on this wheel was a 225/40 front + 255/35 rear. But isn't the stock wheels for the 2IS 225/40 front + 255/40 rear? My question is do I run 255/35 or 255/40 for rears?
If RWD F-Sport, you have 8" fronts and 8.5" rears. Run the 255s on the rear....
Yeah I know I should run 255 on rear. My question is the 3IS wheels from factory are 255/35 but the 2IS stock wheels previously on the car were also 8.5 but 255/40. Should I stick with the original 40 tire profile or go with the 35 like how the wheels came with in the 3IS?
255/40 has a slightly taller sidewall compared to the front, making the car look a bit uneven from the side.
The 255/35 has identical sidewall as the 225/40. It's totally up to you which size and look you prefer. If your car is AWD I suggest you stick with even diameter 225/40 and 255/35.
