I installed my Black Vue and didn't need to remove anything. Just get some trim tools and lightly open the edge and tuck the wires in and run them down to the fuse box or ODII port or however you're powering it.

That worked using the supplied panel removal tool so I was able to run the wire but which fuse do I tap into for ignition on to run the dash cam

I did not have to remove anything either pillars wise. I did remove the side panel cover to the dash. There is plenty of slack to tuck under the headliner to the pillar and down.

thanks guys. The only issue now is with the tap-a-fuse, I cannot get the fuse box cover back on. Do you guys still have your cover off?

Unfortunately with the tap you have to use without cover. That’s why I got an OBD2 power adapter. I didn’t want to risk kicking it since I have long legs. Works just fine!

I went with the ODB adaptor as well....powers while the car is off. My Vantrue has a motion sensor that will record with movement or impact while the car is parked.
