Default 2013 Air Suspension

I currently have a 2010 460L with air suspension. I recently saw a 2013 with air suspension at a local dealer and really do like the car. My question is did the air suspension get updated or change in 2013? It seems that I have never seen an issue with the air suspension systems after 2012. Is it that for some reason post 2012 there are fewer issues or is it my imagination?

Yes. They reworked the air suspension substantially for 2013.

I'm not sure if these changes translate into better reliability or if they don't have enough miles on them yet to be an issue, or if overall sales were lower than 07-12 leading to less reports.

I'm at 153k on my 2013 with air suspension and the ride is simply outstanding. FAR better than my 2018 Cadillac CT6 Premium Luxury.

My 2013 f sport rear right went out at 71k. I was lucky to find a almost new set from Ebay for 1,000. It came with the control module and the cover for the air suspension. The seller bought a 2017 f sport and switched it to air runner. It took us almost 7 hrs to change all 4 air suspensions.

EVERY suspension and component "will fail" its just a matter of time. Nothing lasts forever. Having had this car with the coil suspension and the air suspension, the air suspension makes the car. It ads a degree of solidness, refinement and polish to the way it drives that puts it on another level.

Will it fall? Yes. The car will eventually turn to dust too. Will it fail within the time you own it? How long are you going to own it? Put $100 a month into an "air suspension slush fund" and you'll be able to make repairs as needed and then some. This is an issue that people are needlessly scared of.

There are threads about people tearing out good systems and converting them to coils because "they don't want to deal with repairs"... that's just insane. Would you tear out your transmission and preemptively replace it because it might someday fail?!
