Default Finally purchased a 2005

I have been researching and looking for over a month and finally found one that was acceptable where I live, it was looking like I was going to have to drive or fly some where to get one. It’s a 2005 with 83k, fairly mint, Lund one ding and a few scratches but it had all service records, timing belt has been changed and suspension was recently done, new Michelin’s pilots, even came with a donut and has had Xm added,, the antenna was also recently replaced so it seems most of the things I would have been concerned about have been done. Garage kept and I believe it, very happy so far... I did pay close to dealer price from a private sell {15k} but I guess it’s worth it to get one I don’t have to do anything to for a while.

Thanks, made me nervous, prices were all over the place with photos not really telling me much, If I had gone traveling I may have been able to pick up a 06 or 07 but those had been on the market a while so it makes me think they may have had issues, but anyway I am happy, this was a Tennessee car, the guy I bought it from was 83 and had only put 10k on it in the last three years, he flew from Hilton head to nashville to pick it up and said the owner lived next door to Dolly Parton.... gotta love that story lol

Wow, that's a low mileage White Gold Crystal. I have the same but an 03. Happy touring!

Congrats and Welcome to the club. It would be better if it were an 06+ but I guess sometime you can not so choosy. The good thing are you don’t have to worry about fixing it for a while.
Enjoy your SC.

Hey Scott

Congrats ! Love the color as I have an 02 WGC
As well. The white gold crystal is a pretty unique
” Gold white” and Lexus no longer make

If you want to do any upgrade, the tail lamps change
To the LED 06 is a great option.

Here is my 02 with the upgrade lights

How much did that run you, I do like the 06 tail lights however for some reason the old style look pretty great on the white sc430s... the main reason I had wanted to find an 06 was for the 6 speed but honestly don’t know if I could really tell the difference, I am a long time LS driver and the 5 speed has been bullet proof for me, just turned 300,000 on the ls my Sc replaced

Btw I added the car to mycarfax and it gives private party and trade in values based on carfax history, it says I only overpaid by 500 so that made me happy, I suspect a dealer might have put 18k on this one, don’t know if they would get it but especially lexus dealers still ask a lot for cremepuffs

Hey Scott

I would not worry if you paid a few dollars more
as a clean pearl white SC is getting harder to come
by these days.

I probably paid 2K more in 2017 when I bought my
02 WGC with 45K but then again I was very particular
And wanted an SC that were never repainted with
original paint. With the pearl white 3 stage paint
if the car was ever repainted, it will generally never
match.

Do you know if all the paint is original? You can
Easily check the fenders to see if all the original vin
stickers are on the panels. As for the rear lights,
it was about $650. Are you tinting the windows?
you won’t regret it!

I have not thought about tint yet but yes I think I would like that, the paint is original, it would be considered showroom good except for a couple of spots, looks like just one small chip on hood, some one did touch it up but it could be done better, there are a couple more that I need to tend to around of of the wheel wells and there is one small scratch that is pretty deep so not really sure how I want to deal with that, sometimes you can make something look worse with touchup instead of better, I can also so some micro scratches on the inside of the door handle, maybe just 14 years of opening the door from finger nails.... I am being super critical though, a general on looker would not notice any of this. I give the inside a 10 out of 10, looks brand new

My 03 WGC. Long weekend, took it to work today, grin on my face never went away. Handles tight and it has so much power than my IS350.

Damn, Mandy, still looking good there !

OP congrats from another 2005 owner. We're different on the outside but the same interior. I'm at 94,000 miles of which 70,000 are my miles. You should have many years of happy driving. And thanks for verifying what a 2005 is worth in the market now. All the best.
