Default What time is my nine o'clock appointment? (Service manual question)

Now that I have your attention:

I just acquired a 2002 SC430. To a certain extent, I like at least being informed on how to work on it myself.

Am I better off getting an SC 430 2002 Repair Manual set or a 2004 Repair Manual set?

(Sometimes the later year manuals have some tips and mods that aren't in the earlier manuals.)

Thanks,
ivanj
PS
Are there any of you near Lime Rock Park in NW Connecticut USA?

For $20 you can get access to TIS for two days and get the newest info, all the TSB etc etc. then decide if you want the paper version of the RM. BTW there are separate books for electrical, transmission, collision and the multi-volume RM. TIS gets you access to all.

here is the link: https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo....toyota.com%2F

The question still remains about which year of paper manual I should get, the 2002 or 2004 for my SC 430?

Thank you for the valuable supplementary info about the online resources. How do I get access to TIS online?

I confess I am old school nostalgic and can remember when MB used to include a service manual with my father's cars.

The service manual is three volumes and 3,000 pages plus a separate electrical book.

you will find out the car is built to NASA levels and has many special tools to work on it needed.

thank goodness these rarely break.

i use them to work on my 2002 and 2007.

Thanks to everyone,

I ended up ordering a paper two volume manual. Should keep me busy for awhile.

You got me thinking about a set of service manuals for the 2007 SC430.
I found this new three volume set on eBay for $181.
