Default Stolen

Well we had a very short time as owners of our LC. 3 months and 1,700 klms

Aholes kicked our door in and found the fob. We were very lucky the insurance company didn't find the car within the 2 week wait period before the car is classified as a total wreck. They told us they would repair it, if it was possible and it was found.

The thieves also got a credit card they used to fill the car.

Stolen with a full tank of full at 4.30pm and 70aud of fuel stolen from a gas stand at 10.30pm. They must have been really thrashing it.

One good thing to come of it is we've changed our habit of going out and leaving windows and back door open.

Unfortunately it's not that type of world anymore. Now it's cctv and everything locked tight with the alarm system on whenever the house is vacant.

Hope no one goes through what we've just had to.

We decided to get something a little less amazing looking. Lots of people looking at it wherever we went and obviously some eyes had ill intent.

So was it found? I see your location says WA - i assume that is West Australia? And here I thought Perth was the most perfect city in the world.

Don't get something less amazing! Show the thieves you are unbothered and moving on with a new LC. You are aware of what could happen now so with some preparation and diligence this won't happen a second time. They can steal our possessions but not our joy! Good luck and stay safe...

Why did it take the insurance company two weeks to find the car when all LC500's are equipped with GPS tracking through the Enform App suite? The car could have been found within hours even minutes after being stolen. Who leaves their car's fobs or keys in cars in 2019 with the car's windows down? This post comes off odd. (rolls eyes)

Sorry for your troubles.

I may be of the minority but if my car were stolen, I wouldn't want it back. I wouldn't have the same connection knowing it's been abused and tampered with. I'd just let the insurance cover it and get a new car.

I think the OP is saying that the key fob was in the house and the home door was kicked in (not the car's door)?

It's not like there is a large population in WA and LC500 at every corner like a BMW! Just be glad no one got hurt. Think about it this way, you can go shopping for another LC!!
That's why you have full comprehensive insurance, you only live once!. The *****head who stole your LC will be one day be caught - karma mate karma.

Question: Why couldn't someone use the Lexus Enform app to locate or disabled the car

That's right, i couldn't believe a 200k car doesn't have tracking.
The 3 aholes are doing a stretch now. The ring leader is looking at 5 years plus. The day after the police nabbed him the car suspiciously turned up parked in a shopping center without plates.

All done now. Full payout from the insurers.
