Default Best way to unlock passenger door?

What is the best way to unlock the passenger door for my wife? She does not have the key.

Usually I open the driver side door, then press the unlock button on the inside of the driver side door. I wonder if there was a more easier automatic way.

Grabbing the driver side door handle should unlock all 4 doors by default. Maybe check vehicle settings to see if it's set to only open driver's door.

Doesn't do it by default - you have to change the settings.

Can't you just grab the rear handle to unlock all?

You can make all doors unlock automatically by doing this: This is how you change the setting without Techstream. First lock the car, then on the keyfob press and hold both the Lock and Unlock button for about Five orten seconds, when you hear the beeps it switches mode so that all doors unlock when garbing the drivers door. I believe you can also set this by going to vehicle setting on Enform.

I believe the default setting is unlock single door - at least for the driver door it seemed to work that way when I took delivery. I changed it to open ALL doors but not sure if the single door approach worked for any door or just the driver door. Details in the manual for sure.

On my 6th gen, default is driver's door only when that handle is touched. All doors unlock when rear is touched. I much prefer this option, vs always opening all at all times. I would be surprised if this was changed on the 7th gen.

Not sure about the 2019 ES, but with all my other vehicles this is what I do if I have passengers. Although there are times when my wife is the first to the car and wants to get in, so I just use the key fob.

For security purposes I prefer the driver door handle only opening that one door.

While the previous RX's (2015 and older), IS's and CT's did not have sensors in the rear door
outside handles, nearly every other Lexi does. If you are alone when approaching the car just
grab the Driver's door as usual. If you are letting in guest passengers then reach through (but
not even opening) the driver's side rear door handle. This will unlock all four doors. No need
to change the setting which was defaulted to driver's door only for your security.

When you touch the small dimple on the outside door handle (small black button on older cars)
you are locking all the doors (and the gas cap door on newer Lexi). You are notified by a
quiet chirp. If you are in a noisy environment you can, in the first five (5) seconds, tug on the
handle to confirm that it is locked. Wait longer than five seconds and you will unlock the door(s).

There was an option to unlock ALL DOORS from driver touch and that's how I set it up.

Yes, as there is on mine. I just don't see the need, when the rear door handle is not that far away. The added security is the reason I leave it default.

Good point on security which I hadn't quite frankly thought about.

You have to go into customized settings and change how the doors open. I did it on my 2019 350. I touch the driver's door and all 4 doors unlock. When I got the car only the driver's door would unlock by touch. And I don't use the key fob at all, keeping it in my pocket...

Precisely as the doc I uploaded shows. Right in the manual.
