Ive been shopping to replace my SC with an LC and there are dealers offering huge discounts on 2018's that they cant sell (as much as 11.5k off for walking in the door, before any negotiating). Ive read a lot about the design changes in this forum and in other sources and it looks like 2019 is a pretty significant update for this vehicle. However, I dont yet see dealers offering any major discounts and Im not sure I want to wait another year until these become "leftovers." Ive test driven the car and it's a fantastic machine. The sales numbers are shockingly small and im pretty sure it's on track to be one of the worst-selling cars of all time http://carsalesbase.com/us-car-sales...exus/lexus-lc/ Why isn't the car-buying public convinced of this cars value? And is really worth paying 12k or more for the changes made for 2019? Im curious to hear opinions from current owners.

The LC 500 is a very niche product. The exclusivity is one major reason I own it instead of my 2016 Vette. The 2019 differences are minimal. The big thing is you do get a one year newer titled car. And that might be worth on the order of $10K to someone somewhere. But down the road in the future that value difference probably contracts.

My 2018 LC 500 performance package is for sale at a local dealer with 3200 miles on it $75,900. To me, that would make more sense.

i'm in the exact same position. i'm waiting for a lightly used 2019 which should be about 75k a year from now. i'd never buy the first year of ANY car, including a lexus, and as you mentioned the 2019 updates seem pretty significant. FYI i've contacted about 10 different dealers around the country within the last month and with no prodding they'll say their "internet offer" is about 92k on cars with msrp's of around 100k or so. if you look on cargurus or cars.com or autotrader, you can find lots of 2018's for 75-80k, and that's with only about 5k miles on the odometers. a year from now it should be the same for the 2019's.

also, guys on this site have said that if you go to the lexus performance driving school (which costs about 1k), they'll give you a coupon for 6k or 7k off the price of an LC500. i contacted them directly and it changed for 2019. now they just give you a 1k coupon.

i love the car but that initial depreciation is a killer, even for a car like this.

Oh my. I didn't realize sales had experienced that much of a drop off. They're selling 90 per month now. Original forecast at initial release was 400/month.

I agree but really prefer to buy new over CPO. My sc is CPO with low mileage but had significant concealed body work and that really upset me bc I purchased at a dealer across the country and they lied about the damage, which was apparent upon arrival but not in photos.

I just got my local dealer to take 15k off a fully loaded new 2018, so 91k from MSRP of 106 but no lower for now. However, Friday I'm bringing in the SC to see what they will give me for it in trade. Anyone have any idea what they actually pay for these cars? Invoice is BS. Thanks

New rear motor mounts to reduce vibration, new vgr steering, enhanced steering programming, new steering bracket, new suspension setup with new bushings and expanded range for better comfort

Funny how some people use the word minimal while others use significant when describing the differences between 18 and 19

I'll keep my 2018 and just buy the Tom's suspension for less with a better kit. Besides enhanced VGRS to someone who will simply cruise the car like most old farts do, will never even use the VGRS to it's potential like on a road course which is what it was intended for.

These are useful but minimal changes. If you don't need or want Carplay I would bet the changes would be hard to notice driving an '18 and '19 back to back. Of course visually the cars are the same.

These are my opinions, of course I could be wrong.

I took your advice. I just signed the paperwork for a 2018, fully loaded with performance pack etc. MSRP of 105,978, but in the end (with some hard bargaining) they took 10k off plus 7k rebate so 89k. I think it's a pretty damn good deal.
