Car Play Coming for 19 IS?
I was at a Lexus dealer yesterday, and they mentioned that 19 IS300's will be coming out with Apple Carplay soon, and would not have to wait for the 2020. Has anyone else heard this? I can't find this online anywhere.

I don't think that's true. I have a 2019 and it does not have CarPlay.

I got Apple CarPlay on my own with a bigger screen for $700. I wasn’t going to wait for Lexus to do it whenever they felt like it.

Someone did mention that there is an update coming out soon on Reddit, for the IS. Lexus does mention there’s updates coming soon for CarPlay in the summer but the IS isn’t listed.

If you notice, all the vehicles listed for carplay upgrade compatible are gen 10 (mouse pad). So unless Lexus is going to upgrade the IS to gen 10, we aren't going to see carplay until the 4IS (and it definitely won't happen mid model year). Notice that the RX isn't on that list either...same reason, it's on the gen 9 with the joystick controller. However, the RX is up for a mid-cycle refresh next year so I could see them switching to gen 10 (not to mention they would be stupid not to on their best selling model).

BMW has had wireless carplay for a few model years now. I'm sure a few other manufacturers have followed on most recent model years.

Can you make a video or post some pics on it? How involved was the process? And I have the Lexus mouse pad, you need the wheel in order for this unit to work, right?

Ah, I didn't know this. That I would use. Nonetheless, I still find it crazy how my wife's 2017 Hyundai has had CarPlay and a 2019 Lexus IS doesn't.
