2012 RX Hood Struts

It is an easy job. You can find a lot of videos on the Internet on how to replace the struts. This is the one I replace for my Lexus RX 350 2011.
I did it two years ago and it still hold up well. It is important to make sure you have something to hold the hood up as you replace either of the struts because it would collapse. The spring on the bad strut is already bad so one strut might not keep the hood stable. I used a long screw driver but if you can find a long metal bar or breaker bar or PVC pipe it would be better.
Have fun!

Just did mine last weekend. Rock Auto was out of stock so got them for $30 on ebay from rugged tuff. Used a small sprinkler flathead to do the job with my father in law holding the hood. just added more grease in the fittings. Done in less than 5 minutes. Same process for the liftgate.
