Good little machine...well-built, roomy, space-efficient, economical, well-designed ergonomics. The newer ones are noticeably more quiet, refined, and upscale-feeling on the road than the first-generation ones. My brother, nevertheless, had a 1Gen for almost 5 years, and loved it...the only reason he moved on to a Sportage was that he needed AWD for winter commuting. Unfortunately, Kia has never gotten around to doing a gas-powered AWD version of it.

Agree. I'm liking the Koreans, in particular Kia more and more with their features/tech, build quality, and overall value. The new Soul is impressive.

Maybe sightly off-topic, but is your Stinger holding up well? I was impressed wth the Stinger's build-solidness as a new car.

Besides the few, albeit minor quality issues I experienced the first few months, no other issues. Feels tight inside.

Available HUD, 10.2 LCD display, heated steering wheel.

Love everything but the taillights.

I like it a lot. I especially like the interior music lighting. That's a pretty unnecessary but awesome feature. I never knew about this on the previous models but wow, it's much cooler with the new door trim.

Makes a compelling beater commuter car. Especially the EV version, if the price is right.

Hi guys. I really liked this car, but from the video I watched I understood very little. Could you help the girl with the choice of car? For me it is important that the car was as safe as possible. Besides the fact that I want to buy a car, I am now writing research papers using the harvard citation generator service https://*********.com/harvard-citation-generator, and I need to learn as much as possible about cars as far as they are safe in 2019.

Hello Peysy...and welcome to CL and Car Chat as a new poster.

What is it about this vehicle you don't understand, or you want to know? You mention safety.....the 2019 Soul did very well in the Government's safety-tests, getting a five-star rating. Here is some information that describes it.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2019/KIA/SOUL

My brother had one of the original first-generation Souls, and it was generally quite reliable. He would probably still have it today if not for his need for AWD all wheel-drive) for winter commuting. The later (second-generation) Souls generally ride better, are quieter, and feel more refined inside and out. The Soul also sells for a generally reasonable price, by today's standards.

And,of course, if there is anything about the Soul you don't like, you also have other options.

I see these things everywhere, so they must be doing something right. It's not my cup of tea, but in terms of quirky/cute boxes, they do it well.

Where Scion xB, Honda Element, and Nissan Cube have failed, Kia Soul has succeeded
