Default Picking up my (new to me) 98 LS400 in 5 days

Finally figured I'd post up a thread on here since I've made a deposit to have the car held until I can pick her up this coming Saturday. I've been looking for a clean LS400 for a month or so now since I was ready for something a little more refined after my last few heavily modified cars. I stumbled upon this 2 owner gem in Colorado, been in Colorado its entire life, the last owner had the car for 17 years and you can see she has been cared for. Serviced at a Lexus dealer always and had new headgaskets etc put on within the past 4k miles. Carfax shows stacks of maintenance (I normally hate carfax but it was peace of mind) cannot wait to get her home. She will be stock until summer and then I'll start a mild vip build. Nothing too crazy but I'm ready for the refinement.

Great color! Congratulations!! You can do to https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/ and set up an account for free and get all the service records for work performed by Lexus

is there even a longer version? I wasnt under the impression a long wheelbase edition was in existence until the ls460L. It's currently at 210k. Higher I know but the maintenance is what kept it interesting. I know the 1uz is super reliable with upkeep. They were asking 3995 and I got em down to 3750. Heated seats also. I had to have a 98+ for the updated vvti and based 9n the prices I see for privately owned with no records I still think it's a good deal.

there is no "longer version" of the LS 400 apart from a few custom ones that some arabs made

https://www.komfort-trans.pl/lexus-ls400-long

but congrats on your 98! as far as i'm concerned it doesn't get much better than the final revision of the LS 400

There was one officially https://tiremeetsroad.com/2018/10/13...-asking-43000/

Mustve been the angle. Hmm, no records, I would personally replace lots of wear items. But I personally wouldnt pay 4k.

no I was saying there WAS tons of maintenance via the lexus dealership dating back to 2001. Everything for the most part has been well taken care of that's the ONLY reason I went with this one.

my 99 LS had this color, antique bronze mica I believe it was called, do not get this car if the paint is fading, it looks so bad. I wish I had pics of how bad the clear coat faded on mine, I’m not saying don’t get it but when that paint goes.... it goes...

welcome!
sad to say but hearing head gasket is a red flag to me. these cars don't see many head gasket replacements, and if they do, the engine may have seen catastrophic damage.
I hope you meant timing belt, which needs to be done every 90k miles anyway. what's the mileage on the car?
