Default check engine VSC lights on

2005 Lexus GX -- My check engine and VSC lights came on this morn. I fiddled with the gas cap. No luck. I know the gas cap is usually the culprit and first thing to check. But my gas cap is only 4 months old. Is there a way to identify if it is in fact the gas cap? Other than replacing it? I'm in upstate NY and cold/warm weather on and off and wonder if that could damage the cap?

Should i suck it up and just replace it to see?

Dont replace anything yet.
First find out what code(s) you have.
If you dont have a scanner, Autozone can check your codes for free.

I checked all the vsv hoses and didn't see any lose or damaged. I realize it could be the VSV vacuum switching valve or air injection control circuit or even the ECM... but wanted to try the easy things before I brought it into Lexus and have $2k bill.

Thats awesome you were able to check them.
Most likely its a stuck AIC valve.
Known problem for these.
Ive seen kits here for that problem but i personally have no experience with those.
