Default What do you guys think of the brakes?

It's taking some getting used to for me. The car seems harder to stop than my suv I had. I rented a 2018 Camry and the brakes were very responsive - barely stepping on the brake and it would stop. It was easy to stop. I would say the brakes were somewhat touchy but easy to get used to.

Several times I thought I would run into the back of somebody stopping in front of me because it feels like I have to stomp on the brake pedal in the ES. It's like I'm driving a big rig and have to start braking earlier than I am used to.

No issues here at all.

Not a problem I have noticed and I do a lot of stop and go city driving. Perhaps something is out of adjustment. Take it back to your dealer. That would certainly be warranty work.

How many miles on it and did you put most of them on? Brakes are about the only part
of a modern car that still needs a break-in period. If the car was run in pretty hard as the
first one at the dealer 'Hey, let's go beat on test drive the new ES!" the pads could be
glazed from overheating and now have less friction. If it was officially a Demonstrator
or simply had more than the usual 20 or so miles you should get with the Managers at
the store (service writers and salespersons have no authority or interest in this) and have
them drive yours.
Cars that are used by Corporate for Sales and Service Staff Training at "Ride and Drive"
events routinely get the brakes changed out before being sold.

Car had less than 10 miles on it. I now have almost 600 miles on it.

Please take it back to the dealer. If it feels like it is only grabbing after pressing halfway point of brake application of Brake system might have air in it.

I completely forgot I had this issue I am not having a problem with the brakes any more. It didn't take that long after I first posted about this issue for the brakes to "break in". It's like maybe the brake pedal was stiff? So, no issues after that.

Around about how many miles did you notice things are better? I'm at 1900 miles and still feel like the brakes still isn't catching

That's exactly what happened to me, too. I posted about the brakes in the first 2 months or so of owning the car. It's been almost a year since I bought it now and I have 6500 miles. I forgot about the issue a while ago. My guess is that the issue went away at around 3000 or 4000 miles.
