December 5th. 2018, Ultra Lux, MSRP $53,430.00, all options, Doylestown, PA, $1000.00 D to R rebate, 6% PA sales tax, $40.00 tag transfer, NO DEALER ADD-ONS.
Sold my 2013 ES myself for $6000.00 more than the dealer offered on a trade. Selling price: $49,500 + tax and transfer. $3930.00 off list. I did add side moldings @ $139.00. I hit them up for free floor mats before shaking hands on the deal and they threw them in for free...

Truecar charges the dealer $400.00 for each lead provided that results in a sale. This fee is then added to the sales price of the car...

The fee is only charged if you go through them. They also ask for a lot of personal information. Plus, it's an average paid. In my area, AutoNation had a no-haggle price almost $2,000K below the truecar price.

European pricing is absolutely insane. For a luxury package you are looking around 68K euros, that's brand new GS450h Luxury trim territory. What the hell did they do? They literally took out GS and replaced it with ES with exact same pricing. My reasoning for bringing in ES is to attack lower spectrum of premium midsize market, something GS was struggling with but instead they are doing the exact same thing they did with GS. Right now it cheaper to buy brand new GS300h than ES300h cause GS is on firesale pretty much. Some dealers have brand new GS450h in luxury trim for way less than ES Luxury.

Got this offer for 2019 Fsport with factory options from a NJ dealership through email,

Msrp: $52,793
Selling price: 47388 + 699.75 (dealer doc fee) = 48087.75
times NJ Sales tax 6.625% = 3185.84 plus NJ tire tax 7.50, + DMV estimated 400 until submitted to DMV + NJ luxury tax 0.004% 189.56
TOTAL $51870.62 - 1000 rebate = OTD 50870.62

It is about 9% off ($4705) Msrp before Lexus rebate. Is it reasonable to push for ~12% off Msrp at this point? or is this probably the best I can get in the Tri-State area?

Two days ago (1/23/19) I took delivery of my Atomic Silver / Chateau ES300h UL, with all (or most) of the options (HUD, NR wheels, BSM, ML, Triple LED, Illuminated door & trunk sills, plus a few minor ones...)
I special-ordered this from Lexus of Greenville (SC) in late October, and I got $4k off the $55,573 MSRP (7.2%): The $3k I negotiated (which included $250 if it did not come with Michelin tires (it didn't) and $250 because they sat on the paperwork for 3 weeks before placing the order) plus the $1000 Lexus bonus.

7.5% off of Sticker at Mt. Kisco Lexus in Westchester County NY. No haggle, just said I wanted 10% they Countered and I accepted. Very nice dealership and easy transaction.

Nowadays the most effective strategy for getting the maximum % off MSRP is usually doing the price negotiating via email with the internet sales manager or a dealer staff sales person. Most of your shopping for a specific car model and equipment can be done online too. I don't bother with Truecar or Costco because their discounts are ho hum.
