For those that are interested here are new specs of RC-F Track edition. Some nice changes done to RCF. This how RCF should have been done first time around IMO except for carbon ceramic rotors and fixed C/F wing just offer them as option.
Carbon Fiber Roof, hood, and fixed wing.
New BBS rims that save 55lbs
New titanium exhaust
New functional Aero package
New headlights and body changes
New Brembo lighter race oriented calipers
Launch control claimed 0-60 3.9sec
Lighter and stiffer suspension including stiffer engine mounts consisting of and I quote
"At the rear, hollow half shafts are now used in place of the previous solid shafts while up front a pared down intake manifold and a smaller air conditioning compressor remove weight from the front of the car. Changing to aluminum for the toe control brackets and upper suspension support brackets also reduces weight while maintaining stiffness.
To further refine the feel of the RC F, there are now stiffer bushings for the rear suspension arms and steering rack mounts"
Overall some very nice changes but it still needs to shave off some weight for track edition. The standard RCF should have come in at 3782lbs pretty much matching weight of ISF. With track edition being closer to M4 weight wise. But its step in right direction for Lexus hopefully they continue towards more of sport focus coupe. Let LC500 be GT Coupe and RCF true sport coupe.

At least Lexus is trying. It's kinda late but better late than never. I never got in the bandwagon that the RCF was this huge mistake and that it was a bad car. It's a good car...it just didn't measure up to expectations.

I also thought this was interesting from the press release:
So Lexus is opening the secondary intake at 2800 vs 3,600. My understanding on the ISF is the intake is vacuum actuated. Interesting to see they are tying the operation of the secondary to actual RPM. I wonder if this is just a revised vacuum actuator that could be implemented on the ISF. From other threads, an open secondary intake all the time loses power but maybe opening a bit earlier will add just a bit.
It’s now rated at 472 horsepower (+5hp) and 395 pound feet of torque (+6 lb ft) thanks to a revised intake routing and lower rpm trigger point for the secondary intake opening (2,800 rpm vs 3,600rpm)

No price out yet on track edition but i heard 100k ouch. If that's the case there are so many track toys in that price range I couldn't justify a hundred k for it so many cars in that range. I could get the new Carrera 911 T, its drivers Focus 911 that cuts out all the bells and whistles and brings it back to Old School lighter weight cars with a manual clutch for the same 100k even though 911 T it will be down on hp 370 to 472hp thats 100hp difference between the two, but curb weight of manuel Carrera 911 T 3142lbs compared to the 3872 RCF.
I'm rooting for the RCF track Edition I hope it does extremely well maybe it will surprise all of us.

I almost feel like lexus tried to soften up the RCF just because of all the flack the ISF got because of the hard suspension in the earlier models. When they did make a more comfortable GT car...everyone screamed, more hardcore!....lol.

Same here I like RCF, much better looking in person and has grown on me. Its just we were expecting sports coupe and got GT coupe that can be put on track. Just imagine 3650lb RCF with its current configuration one of last N/A V8 add set headers and exhaust not only would it sound glorious you have 500 crank plus engine capable of some serious fun I would then consider buying one.

Slightly better 60' time and nothing more. With an 8 speed gearbox, there really isn't a lot of measurable gain with a lower final drive ratio once you get off the line. The engine stays in the meat of the powerband after launch pretty much all the time so gears won't help at all.

Launch Control would be nice. Outside of that and a carbon roof I don’t see anything here that impressed me.

I was at Lexus yesterday test driving the RCF (almost traded my 08 ISF for a 16 RCF). They gave me an awesome trade value on my F, but I couldn’t pull the trigger. Anyways, they said the new track addition will be on the market early September with a price tag of $101k MSRP.

They may end up sitting, despite being rare. Your going to have to really want this car to pay anywhere near 100, especially since dealers will discount the new regular model just to move it. It’s an improvement, but it’s not worlds apart from the regular model. Essentially 5 more hp, and around 200 pounds lighter (guessing)?
