It's funny how the interior is fully BMW. All the switch gear, controls, UI, buttons, steering wheel (except airbag cover) all straight up BMW parts. I wish Toyota had at least done the interior themselves. Shows the extent of the budget they had to work with in creating a low-volume sports car. Still grateful though. Essentially a modern BMW with different styling (which I'm thankful for) for 50k.

I was just thinking how it looked like an oversized Z4.

It's kind of a neat product when you think about it... you can own a BMW without the pretentiousness or stigma associated with actually owning one. BMWs are so commonplace and really I wanted to get away from that crowd even though I loved the driving dynamics and performance. This Supra kinda helps you fly under the radar.

Haha, I guess. Though, not sure how under the radar you'll be whipping around in the new Supra. It's not exactly understated.

Honestly, this was a disappoint in my opinion. Its a B58 Engine with a Toyota badge on it. Was hoping for something more unique.

More so in terms of driving a Toyota vs. BMW. But yeah it's still a sports car lol. You won't be frowned upon as much or thought of as a snooty/uppity rich kid or someone trying to appear "rich."

I hear you. Toyota said it had to have a straight six. And this one is highly tuneable so it will make TONS of power easily just like the old Supra. And this is the most reliable engine BMW makes so it sort of fits Toyota's purposes. They say its toyota's fastest car ever offered.

You will see more and more of this I think in the future. Sports cars have been borrowing other car makers engines due to cost for quite a while now. Just a few examples: Lotus uses Celica and Camry engines, Zonda, Aston have used AMG engines, Saturn used Honda engines, McLaren used BMW engines. If it's good enough for McLaren, I think it's good enough for Toyota

Meh, styling-wise I'd take an RC-F. But yeah, BMW interior, for better or for worse.

Honestly its not a bad car, Actually its a great car but what its not is a Supra replacement. If they sold it as a Toyota Soarer it would be in my opinion a success.

I hope the aftermarket brings a new front bumper. only thing about the new Supra i don't like. that middle vent is awkward. reminds me of a weird alfa romeo thing. not sure why they chose that. serves no styling purpose, no heritage purpose, and no functional purpose.

I agree with you here- the B58 is a great platform no doubt about it. I believe it will make 450-500hp with a tune & full bolt on.

With time we will be able to tell the full potential of the car
