Driver's side mirror no longer tilts up and down. Motor died to something became disconnected. It moves side to side but not up and down. Time for a new car? LOL

Not bad at all...my first "failure" was a dead battery after about 4yrs but not sure if that counts!

Battery is wear and tear. Doesn't count. I'm still on the OEM battery still. LOL

i had my first "Error" today too (well ok, 2nd but the first was such a minor disconnect of the upshift paddle connector). Was driving down the highway, came to the red light where I turn to go home and as I came to a stop (< 5mph) the front parking sensor started beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep with the white/red indicator lit up in the dash as if I was way to close to something. Nothing was there. It continued to do this everytime I slowed to a stop for the rest of the drive home, and would disengage with speed.

I got home and massaged the 2 front bumper sensors and that seemed to fix the problem. Not sure if this is an indicator of a problem surfacing or just dirt or something causing the sensor to trip? We shall see if it occurs again!

Sometimes it's just dirt. Here up north, I get that from time to time when it snows badly.

Yes this is a known problem, mine literally had this issue right before warranty ran out. The motors are plastic and tend to wear out.

I used to be the guy who would turn all these things off to keep them from wearing out. Had my GX 10 years, the mirrors didn't tilt, the door locks never locked/unlocked automatically trying to preserve them. Then one day, 7 year in I decided I wanted to use the tilting mirrors, because my neck was tweaked and I couldn't twist! Fail! No tilting mirrors, up, down, in or out! Motors were frozen! Moral of the story, enjoy the features, it keeps them lubed up and functioning. If they die, they die. Mirror, door lock motors, etc., are so easy to change out, there's literally no point in preserving them or stressing out over them. Dealer will usually want a fortune for them, but pretty cheap as a DIY or at an indy shop. Not exactly an air spring replacement like on the LS or GX. Now those are pricey!

I'm not fixing this. It's the driver's side and I can easily stick my hand out the window to adjust which I never have to do since I'm the only driver of my car. My fix will be to buy a new car. LOL

I think I'd miss the auto reverse tilt feature since I like parking as close to curbs as possible!

I doubt you'd miss the auto reverse tilt feature on the driver's side ... unless you park close to curbs on the wrong side of the road.

Don't be so quick to judge. Cities have plenty of one way streets where you'll be parking on both sides of the street.

It's also useful for checking the lines when you back into a spot.

Some streets around me are one way with parking on both sides..also parking lots where I park near a curb if it happens to be on the driver's side when I back in.

Do you really need help from the side mirror when the curb is on the driver's side? Okay...

Maybe some old-school curb scrapers might help.

Oh wait, I think most people only put curb scrapers on the passenger side...
