Stop Signs Not Recognized and Displayed by RSA
i have been driving my new Lexus ES350 for four days now and not once have I seen a stop sign displayed in the multi-function display. Speed limit signs are correctly recognized and displayed, but no other signs are recognized and displayed in the multi-function display. I have read the manual but I cannot find why the RSA feature of my ES 350 is not recognizing and displaying stop signs. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. My Lexus’s recognition of speed limit signs has been very good and I get an audible warning when I exceed the speed limit by the amount that I have set, but stop signs and yield signs are simply not showing up in the multifunction display. This is NOT the behavior that Lexus describes either in the manual or in numerous promotional web descriptions of the capabilities of RSA.
Are any ES350 owners seeing stop signs or yield signs being recognized when they have RSA activated?

Only "speed limit" on my '19 ES F Sport. Their video says STOP, NO PASSING and DO NOT ENTER are part of the camera's recognition program.
Maybe it works better in foreign countries.

Quick question - How can you change the Lane lines with the compass. The settings in the driver's steering wheel control don't show how to change that left segment in the HUD.

I dont think you can , if LTA is on you get the lane markers if off defaults to compass , from what i have experienced.
And yes the only thing my 2019 seems to recog is speed limit signs.

Thanks, that makes sense. I knew I'd seen the compass, but didn't realize how I changed it.

I guess the other issue to consider is , i notice the speed signs if not shown, or change , only appear as you pass the actual sign ( not 100 yds before , for example) So the stop sign warning may come a little too late ...same for the do not enter.
At least that has been my experience with when they( speed limit) are recognized.

Let's face it - this RSA is a bit of a gimmick - how many drivers will use that system as the signal a full stop is ahead - rhetorical question of course. The speed limit thing I guess is useful especially in the HUD but other than that, I use my old fashioned senses to stay focused on the road signs.

I am pleased to say that I now have discovered how to get RSA on my ES350 to recognize all of the sign types described on p. 185 of the Owner’s Manual (including stop signs) and display them in the multifunction display in the instrument cluster. The solution to the problem was a simple one. When setting up RSA I had set it up to give me visual display and a warning alert for speed limit signs and that was working correctly. However, when I got to the “Other Signs” setting I had selected “audible and visual”. Changing that setting to “visual only” immediately resulting in stop signs appear promptly in my multifunction display and I was still getting visual display of speed limit signs and a warning alert as I had requested. I have no idea why selecting “audible and visual” for the “other signs” setting causes a loss of display of stop signs, but I suspect this may be a bug in Lexus’ software. I understand that having stop signs appear in the multifunction display is not a huge deal, but I nonetheless found it satisfying to get RSA working to display other signs beyond speed limit signs in the exact manner described on page 185 of the ES350 owner’s manual. Thanks to those who responded with the identical issue and I hope this helps you implement RSA fully on your vehicle.

My "other signs" had been set to visual only, so I changed it to "a&v" then back to visual, but I still only get speed limit sign indication. The manual says three is the maximum, so I guess I'll settle for 33% performance. Maybe a future software update will correct it for me.
Have any of you gone through the setup and has it corrected the indication?
If you're on HUD, where the speed limit shows, is that changing to stop sign display too?

LeeSoFl,
I am sorry to hear that the procedure of changing the settings of "other signs" to visual only did not result in your seeing stop signs being recognized and displayed. I can only say that doing this did work for me such that stop signs as wells speed limit signs are being promptly recognized and displayed. I do not have the HUD on my Lexus ES350 so I cannot comment on that. I again state that I have no idea why changing this setting of "audio&visual" to "visual only" worked for me, but I can say that it definitely did do so. The Technology Specialist at the Lexus dealer where I bought the car suggested I try setting the switch back to audio & visual to see if perhaps some (as he called it) virtual switch was thrown when I made this change, but I have not yet done so.. I am enjoying having this work the way it is supposed to and I am a bit reluctant to further mess with it.
