Default Brake booster is failing..

Hi friends my 02 GS brake booster is failing badly there is no assist when I press the brake and VSC,ABS, VSC off ,BRAKE lights is ON in my dash and there is a weird consistent chime noise any Idea what is wrong? Please help thanks..

You most likely will need to pull the codes. Do you have brake fluid in your reservoir?

yeah fluids are ok no leaks too.

Same thing is happening to mine. My mechanic is telling me its $1300 to replace with a used one. UGH

Yep, best to find a used part on eBay for $200-300 and have a good Lexus indy install it. A dealer would want $3k!

Yeah mine is failing now and im in the process of removing it. Im doing what a few other members used on this site, the toyota avalon brake booster along with master clyinder.

How reliable is the EBAY parts if I'm gonna buy it anyone experience it already?

Very! Been using eBay for years....most recently for a used fuel pump for our IS250 last month. But I've also replaced the steering tilt motor for my GS400, the door panel and glove box latch. I replaced the radio cover door for our SC430 from a part on eBay. Just check the reviews of the seller (and if they list the Lexus the part came out of even better) and if they accept returns. You can find almost anything you need there.

Btw, if you need an OEM part like air filters or wiper blades there are several Lexus dealers on eBay. It's not just for used parts. However, in the case of something like this you'll definitely want to buy used.
