Assuming no drivetrain damage I'd say that is $10,000 in damages to start.

My guess would be around $8,000. Kelly Blue Book on your car is $18,000 so doubt will be totaled. Hope everyone is okay. Let me guess other driver was texting?

I know I got hit right after buying mine and it just tore the bumper cover, I had no structural damage. The cost of just the cover and paint was well over $2000. Most of my cost came from the 3 stage paint on the ultra white pearl. It's not cheap and take 3 times the labor to apply. Good luck with it hope it all turns out in your favor!!

So Cameron... what's the verdict. Any updates to your situation?

Don’t worry guys I haven’t forgot about y’all I’ve been so busy at work. Last night I found out that they aren’t totaling it. It’s got 12k worth of damage and the vehicles value is almost 23k. Kinda scared that it won’t ever be the same but I love that car lol. Oh and there’s no structural damage.

Would you keep the car once it is repaired
OR
Take the market value and purchase similar/same/different vehicle.
Keep in mind if you take procession [and drive it] of the vehicle after repairs, the value of the vehicle will take a hit as it will be tagged with major/med accident.
By the way I made the situation above as if you have only two choices, but there are more. Just search on diminished value.

If there's no structural damage, then it should drive normal with no concerns after repair, given it's a reputable shop. I used to do body work and we straightened out some really mangled cars, replacing and rewelding panels. When we were done, you couldn't even tell the care was ever hit. Not every shop operates this way unfortunately, so best to really scrutinize the shop.
The diminished value piece is always a concern. When I was looking for my GS, there wasn't one that didn't have an accident on the CarFax. Seemed really odd, but hidden damage was my biggest concern. What I did notice though, is dealers didn't have one ounce of trouble asking top dollar for any of them and wouldn't negotiate! Evidently, it's not that big of a deal to some buyers.

Sorry about your situation, that sucks..,
Its interesting that you say there’s no “structural” damage but then again that word can be interpreted differently. If it were me and I had no other choice, and if it drove straight after the repair, I would drive the car until it depreciated to an amount I could live with and then eventually sell it.
But who knows, like others have said maybe you have other options?

Yeah I don’t know if there’s a way I can get diminished value but I was honestly just gonna keep it for a while since that happened, it’s kind of a tough situation.
