2016 LX570 headrest monitor
I accidentally cracked the screen on the headrest monitor. The dealership said it cost over $7k! You guys know of an inexpensive way of replacing it? Aftermarket options or are there people that can replace just the screen itself?

That's the reason why I was so happy when I finally found LX without these headrest monitors. Would it be possible just to remove them? Actually, iPads work much better for children.

I just replaced/repaired a rear display module from a 2016 LX570 headrest.
The (very recent) purchaser unwittingly acquired said vehicle where the seller failed to disclose the passenger headrest display was cracked.
Due to rarity of such an occurrence, and that few used LX570's are for sale, quite possibly the same vehicle.
OP is silent
I effectuated the repair for $2,000.
(Have a 2nd headrest monitor assembly- like new should anyone require)
Not a do it yourself project

I bought a 2017 LX a couple months ago. It came with the monitors (not a selling point, but somewhat of a bonus). To keep our sons from wanting to watch something every time we get in the vehicle I took them out. This company which I found on here has covers. https://www.trekboxx.com/. However viewing these screens. They suck. Why are they $7000? Or even the $4100. We have one of those portable DVD players from Walmart that cost maybe $75. It looks just as good!! When I turned on these screens for the first time I thought it would have Ipad like quality. Like the front screen. But NO. They are stuck in early 2000s resolution. No touch screen (which may be a good thing with kids). Toyota/Lexus. Just put an Ipad or tablet mount there. Charge $500 for the mount if you want. This is my one and only gripe about the LX. And a remote control that could be lost or broken? why a remote? You are right there. It's harder to get that remote out then it would be with a touch screen. LOL.
