Parking alert and winter weather
As you probably know, here in the east we got hit by a pretty knarly snow storm yesterday. Unfortunately I needed to be out in it and I encountered an annoying problem with the parking sensors, particularly the ones on the front. While driving in snow, and with the splashes from cars in front, the sensors on the bumper became coated with snow/ice and became "active". This meant that any time I slowed to below 20 mph or so the parking warning would begin to make noise. I eventually got tired of it and turned the system off, but I thought I would share this storm-related experience with the rest of you.

Got the same thing yesterday here in Pennsylvania. At first I didn't know what it was but then remembered a few years back that it happened. A good reminder for those of us in the snow belt... We got about 4" of snow then sleet...

I live in the south and never have had to deal with that, but last weekend I was in the St. Louis area and they got several inches of snow and slush - i hadn't driven more than a quarter mile from the hotel when the front sensors went off.. at first I didn't know what the hell was wrong, but I pulled into a parking lot and wiped the snow and slush off the sensor area... worked fine after that. I would hate to have to deal with that on a daily basis in the winter if I lived in that region of the country.
