Default How are the replacement dashboards holding up?

Just wondering how the folks who have had their dashboards and/or panels are doing? I’ve read a couple of online commenters saying they’re having problems with the replacement material. Are you guys more cautious now with sunshades and coverings?

If you're wondering if they are different and will last? I don't think so. So far it looks good and is holding up and still feels normal but I can tell that it's not some new and improved material or anything like that. I am trying to keep it out of the sun as much as possible and use a Windshield Sun Shade all the time.

Good to know. I’ve considered a sun shade but have never purchased. It will be good to have when she’s in a parking lot.

I've had my '08 for 10 years now. Never had a problem with the dash or door trim. Car is garaged and I always use a sun shade when outdoors. And - I'm in ARIZONA!!!!!!

Yeah, gonna need a +1 here. No issues with my new panels or dash. Supposedly it's a different material.

Both my old 07 Camry and this IS had the melting dash/door panel issue. Both were only ever wiped down with water, but they are both daily'd so they don't exactly see much garage time (although I got rid of the Camry years ago). Hot Louisiana weather is killer.

Materials aren’t gonna look any different since the problems were isolated to certain model years. Probably bad chemical composition or wasn’t build to spec. The 09+ didn’t have the issue b

The comments were from posts on videos from youtubers lam le and brorowcarwiz talking about replacement dashboards, of course the comments aren’t proof that they actually have an issue.

Im not sure they have resolved the issue as they have a new campaign ZLZ that covers a lot of models all the way up to the current year. The more recent models issue could be some different type of cause though as a lot of the newer models appear to have dashboards of totally different material and design,

Since this forum is one of the largest Lexus forums out there I invite anyone with real life proof that there are any issues with the new dashes.

didnt know the new ZLZ campaign covered the same cars in later years.

Funny that the ISF and IS-C are covered later but the normal 2IS 09+ isn’t there. The old campaign was for 06-08 only. Assuming that all 2IS had the same dash and suppliers.

If the new dash is like the ones after early 2008, then it will be fine. My dash is 10 years old and it looks brand new. I'm in AZ and cover it most of the time -- no cover in winter.

I put the new dash thru rigorous sunshine and heat without any cover but so far it's holding pretty good, no melting or glare, definitely better than the old one.
