Default Getting advice on new car

Hey guys,
Curious to see what you guys think since in the near future, I might trade in the RCF. I was thinking of getting a 2015 v10 r8 or a amg gts 2016 or 17. Both will be used. The RCF is 2017 and already paid off in 6 months. Would you guys trade the rcf for any of these cars?

It really depends on what your needs/wants are! I went with the F because it was practical for me. It has the best of both worlds in terms of luxury and performance with reliability to boot.

I'm usually one to drive a car til it dies but I would personally trade it for one of those if budget wasn't an issue. Besides, none of us are footing the bill so our opinion shouldn't be what decides for you.

My personal rule is what I studied in economics. It is known as laws of diminishing returns. I personally took 2 years to decide which car is just below where the returns start diminishing. RCF was the best answer for me.

The decision is very complex and depends on various axis of the person's life. Some people like leasing cars for 2 - 3 years and then move on to the latest with the most buzz word around it. Totally not me. I have a lot of other higher priorities in life. Professional, family life, child, school etc. that take up almost all of my time and money. I wanted to buy an expensive sports car that remains very enjoyable and remains special especially with that V8 over the years, which is why I bought the RCF. It is our quality time car. Also, I based it on as much money as I could easily part with without causing a dent in my family's financial needs and plans for the next 5 years or so.

I personally am done buying an enthusiast car for the next many years. Just slowly modify the RCF whenever I have some spare cash to throw on it to make it sound better, more enjoyable and faster. I want to keep my car enthusiasm within a reasonable limit.

No doubt, those AMG GT and R8 V10 are exotic cars you mentioned and if you can keep up with the maintenance costs, cost of purchase and lack of practicality then go for it.

Very hard decision. I might keep the RCF who knows. I am away from the car for a month due to vacation. I racked 24,000 miles in 1 year just joyriding it. I love the car but being away from the car and seeing a r8 and a black amg gts in person got my attention away from the RCF. I don't consider the amg gts or a r8 a exotic but they sure look great. I never liked the Kia stinger in the states but now that I am in Korea and seeing a lot of stingers in person, they look great. It's amazing how being away from the RCF makes other cars that were not favorable look great.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have travelled quite a bit and been to countries where relative to what else is on the road, a standard BMW 3-series or Audi A5 etc. look larger than life.

The only car I would trade my RCF at this point for is a Porsche 911 Turbo, newer 991 model.

Been reading your posts for awhile here and would hate to see ya leave. Dont think I knew you had same year as mine? Anyway, I have a solution for ya. Since your F is paid off (no small feat) why not keep it, and perhaps pick up one of those other cars as well? Granted, you may not have space for an additional vehicle, but if you do - this could be a serious gain for you. IMHO - it would be awesome to own more than one killer car, though what was said about maintanance gives me pause. Tell me this Spam I Am.....what is truly your "Dream Car" which youd love to have more than anything else? Add that to your stable and keep the F that brought you here! 😎

I agree. If you have the finances and the space, it is really nice to have a variety of cars to drive. You learn to appreciate and enjoy the differences between them. We bought some acreage a little farther from the big city and put up a 40 X 50 garage first and built the house second.
