I bought my Lexus ES 350 2015 2 weeks ago.

Everything was fine at the beginning. After first week. When I tried the start the car. At the first attempt, car did not start(it cranks). at the second attempt, it started. Some times I had to try 4 times(it cranks) to start the car.

I push the brake+push the push button. Does anyone have an idea, why car does not start at the beginning? Can it be bad/worn Push Button?

If your starter is engaging and cranking the engine, as you mention, it can't be the button. How many miles/kms are on it?

As Mike states, the button is working if the starter cranks. If the engine doesn't start and the starter is turning, there are numerous issues that it can be. One that comes to mind is the fuel pump. Could even be contaminated gas. One thing you could try that wouldn't be costly is to put in a bottle of Techron which cleans injectors and is safe. Use it when your tank is less than half full. Report back and let us know how you make out.

When it takes multiple tries to start the car, does that only happen when you try to start the car after it has been sitting for several hours? Or does it still take multiple tries if, after you have driven for 15-20 minutes, you shut down the engine and try to start it up again immediately?

It is 63.000Km Interesting part on this, When my wife drives, it never happens. She told me I do not push the button long enough, but I am not sure.

When push button not pressed long enough, does it cause cranking without start?

Your wife has given you the preoper advice and the solution.

Yes, just pressing the button for a very short period can start the car without cranking it (like the way you could turn a key on a car a certain way to just turn on the electronics and similar)

All you have to do is press the button longer, like an extra second at the most until it starts up properly.

Both of my car are Hybrid so I am curious.. Does the starter motor continue to crank if you hold the start button in? I know on the older cars with a mechanical key you would turn the key past "On" to "Start" and as long as you held it in that position, the starter would continue to crank.

For those that don't own a Lexus Hybrid, we don't have a starter motor to start our vehicles. In our cars the engine is started by one of the two motor/generators and it doesn't crank over like a conventional engine.

Problem has been solved!!!!!!!. Lexus dealer found the problem. Brake Light Switch(under the brake pedal) has been changed. It caused this problem. That part seems like fails very rarely, There was only one in Canada and luckily, next day dealer received the part and changed it. Otherwise I would have to wait for a while.

Wow, I didn't think that ODB codes were specific to the level of a specific failed switch. But you're probably right, some code or other surely put them on the right path to eventually track it down.
