Default Damn....It finally happened. Noooooo!!!!!!

Well. Monday after a hard day at work, I'm driving home and I make one of the last turns about a mile from home onto a 4 lane road (separated by a median).
I turn and continue driving, and about 100 ft away there is a back street behind a shopping center. I'm driving along and this CRV pulls out turning right, and before I can stop it pulls out, not in it's right lane, it crosses over to the left lane right in front of me.
My baby is hurt, but not too bad.
The other driver was 80 years old, and just didn't see me. She was at fault because she was leaving a private street and didn't make sure the way was clear, and she crossed to the far left lane.

So I'm in the process of getting it fixed, and got the estimate.
One freakin headlight is $3317 alone !
Wow !!!!

Wow, I got in a minor accident on Monday. Mine is basically missing it's face below the headlight. I was estimating maybe 3-4k for a new bumper, but might have to rethink that estimate. I'm waiting on the guilty partys' insurance to give me the go ahead to start getting estimates.

Unfortunately for me the nearest Lexus certified collision center is 3 hours away, I'll have to settle for a local one which scares me.

I got tagged (or rather I tagged them) on Aug 28th... looks like there's some bad mojo circulating. You guys can fix yours, my 2015 got totaled. But there's a bright side...

I just picked up my 2018 F Sport yesterday!

Look around for a shop that is USAA certified, most do very good work.

Was about to ask you in the 'What did you do to your GS' thread which car you decided on. Glad you got a new one, hope it was as good as the last if not better.

Only had my 2015 Obsidian/Flaxen base for 2.5 months and 1,500 miles, so was only just beginning to get accustomed to the car. Started slow with:
- LED bulbs in the fog lights
- Mud guards (as you know), painted them myself as well
- LEDs in a few interior places
- Cell phone mount from Shapeways, left in the vehicle
- Custom sunshade, left in car
- was on the verge of ordering trunk and rear roof spoilers
- and countless hours of cleaning, waxing and vacuuming

Now that I have an 18 F Sport, Liq Plat/ Rioja Red, I consider all of that as just practice....

sorry to hear, and glad you are ok to write about it.
being seen is important which is why most car manus install daytime running lights. love our lexus LEDs!

defensive driving is also key, especially here in socal, but after a hard day's work I just want to be home so I empathize!
then you have times when it's out of your control...hope it gets fixed quickly!

Just for reference, I got my first estimate done today for repairs. It looks like it's going to be around 3500 to get it back to "normal"

That seems low. Did you get a detailed estimate listing parts and labor?

Yes, received an itemized list of parts as well as labor.
5.5hrs for body work, 4hrs for paint, and 4hrs for paint supplies.

I also got another quick estimate from company B, which came in at 2400. He also said it was a very rough estimate using OEM parts, and the price may very well rise once they get into the nitty gritty of the repairs. The parts alone came in at 1700, while company A subtotaled at 2700 in parts.

I'm thinking about taking it to one more shop to give me a rough average at what I should be looking at.

Did either of you have dashcams? Which would you recommend if you could buy one now?

No dashcam, but if I did, that accident would have made YouTube history!

There's a dashcam thread on here, search and you will find it. Thinking about getting one, but need to think seriously think about how to go about the wiring.
