Half of the trick is the brake pedal isn't just off/on, it's brake lights off/on. This process initiates test mode in all F cars skid control computers since the 2006 IS350 with VDIM. It's a bit easier with a parking brake pedal, but you need to be smooth and swift. When I did this on my IS350 and my IS F, I just tapped the brake pedal enough to light the lights.

The wife came home today with the car. I tested this. With the parking brake on the GS F, it's a bit more challenging because you have to watch for the parking brake light on the dash. The other interesting thing is, now that I turned it on in the garage, but didn't move the car, it doesn't want to turn off. I suspect as soon as the car actually moves it will reset and go back to normally engaged, but right now, every time I start the car, it shows VDIM disabled. That's different for sure!

So I played with this just a little more today and actually drove the car after turning off the nannies. Donuts are pretty easy with all the stability controls ignoring me even on dry pavement with warm tires.

The key to success is making sure the PARK light comes on, so just as the video shows, hold down PARK with the auto function turned off, start the car and hold both the parking brake and the service brake on, fully raise the park switch, fully lower it until PARK comes back on, fully raise then fully lower again until PARK comes back on, then release the brake pedal, tap twice; repeat the parking brake procedure; repeat the brake taps; repeat the parking brake procedure; repeat the brake taps and the VSC off light should illuminate. once you drive it it will disable again. car needs to be driven once the pedal dance is done. then when its shut off and u go back to drive it will be off.
