Default ES fog lamp question...

Greetings from the GS world! Most of the ES's I see have the standard looking fog/driving lamps with ribs on the lenses so they are not perfectly clear. There is one ES where I work that has perfectly clear fog lenses with what appears to be projector type driving lights kind of set back from the lens. Is this specific to a certain model year ES or a package like the Coach Edition? I really like the looks of these lights, and was thinking about molding them into a body kit I might be putting on my GS, so any info would be great.
TIA!,

Mumbles,

Can you please be a little bit more specific. Can you identify the approximate year/bodystyle?

From 95 onwards, I believe ES's only used reflector fogs. 92-94's had projectors with yellow lenses so that's out of question.

Hey guys, it looks like the fog lamp is for sure in the 2001 ES, but whether is comes in other model years or is specific package/trim level I still don't know. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures to show what I'm talking about;

You're almost correct. The ribbed-style fogs belong in the '97-'99 ES, and the clear style started in the '00-'01 ES. Same thing for the 15" and 16" OEM wheels, respectively.

That's a good question, I never thought about that. However, I know that the airdam in the lower part of the front bumper has changed between the '97-'99 and '00-'01 eras, so that may have also changed the geometry and fitment of the fog lamp assemblies. Perhaps the best way to find out is to park your ES side-by-side with another ES of different year model, and inspect the physical dimensions of the fog lamps closely.

Hmm, I do smell a potential mod here...

Default Can anyone explain what I'm missing re: Internet offerings in the fog light dept.?

I consulted a thread from 2003 for background in developing my thoughts here. It was mildly helpful, but alas, I've gotta re-hash this topic. (....and bring it into the current decade)
Considering how much is still available for the first generation to this day, I find it strange how sparse the pickings are where o.e.m. fog lamp assemblies are concerned. So I've been seeking out a replacement pair for my '96....
(....and that's another thing- speaking of 1996... Is it my imagination, or was that a 'red headed step child' year for the es300? It seems there were possibly minor alterations going on starting in July of that year?)
But I digress... I've located a pair that look like:
Name: image.jpeg
Views: 203
Size: 11.2 KB
Above are the type on the car... Meanwhile, in my quest for replacements, I've come across sites that claim the following fit 1994-1996
https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=...Qwg8IKw&adurl=
Are they kidding?? This second 'projector' style look like the type described by 'XenonES3' as fitting the '92-'94 models. Is this just a fine example of laziness in research, or am I missing something? Thanks
