I want to buy some rims for my 98 2GS and lower it. For looks I知 leaning towards 19s but I知 concerned about the performance and ride. Should I just save and go big with 19s or settle for 18s? With lowering the car, should I go with better shocks and lower springs or should I go with Coilovers? I need somewhat of a stiff ride. Nothing slushy too. This is my DD. Thanks.
If its a daily I would do 18s and springs. 18s will give you a little bit more sidewall which will help with the ride and they'll be smaller so you'll have less of a chance of rubbing. Springs will last longer than coilovers and give you most of the same benefits with a little bit less adjustability
I'm running 19's on my 2GS on regular shocks and struts. I use sage rca's in the front and rear to give my car the 1" drop. I drive my car a few days out of the week and the ride is exceptionally smooth. 19's fill my wheel well real good.
19s are nice but I was just saying that personally I don't mind having a smaller wheel to have a bit more sidewall and slightly better ride. Those definitely fill the wheel well more than my 18s though and your car looks clean
I had 18s & personally the ride the same. My car was the same but the difference with the 19s I have no problem going over speedbumps or it scraping. I just keep 40lbs of air pressure. And thanks I try to stay on top of it
